Luwang, April 23, 2024 is the 36th national "Patriotic Health Month", in order to enhance students' health awareness and improve health literacy, recently, the Health 365 Volunteer Service Team of the First People's Hospital of Ningyang County, Tai'an City walked into the county No. 21 Middle School to carry out health science education activities for more than 160 teachers and students in the school.
First of all, Liu Lihong, director of the Department of Infectious Diseases and deputy chief physician, combined with many years of clinical work experience, gave a popular science lecture on "Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in Winter and Spring", combined with the common and frequent respiratory and intestinal infectious diseases in the current season, explained to the students the causes, symptoms, preventive measures of influenza, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, hand, foot and mouth disease, acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis, norovirus infection and other diseases. Food cleaning and handling, personal protection, and staying away from the occurrence of infectious diseases, etc., made a wonderful and detailed explanation.
Spring is the period of high incidence of infectious diseases, and proper handwashing is undoubtedly one of the most convenient measures to prevent infectious diseases. The volunteer teacher taught the students the essentials of the "seven-step handwashing method", led them through practical exercises, and reminded the students to use the seven-step handwashing method to wash their hands thoroughly before eating, after using the toilet and after touching easily contaminated items.
Dr. Guo Hui of the Psychological Counseling Clinic gave a popular science lecture on "Flying Youth - Mental Health Knowledge of Adolescent Students" to the students from the aspects of how to treat classmates well, refuse to label, refuse to be bullied, and how to take care of themselves. Through the way of small games, students are invited to interact on stage, participate in it, and have fun in teaching, so that students can experience how to get along with their classmates, maintain a sunny attitude, and study and live happily.
