On April 22, 2024, six members of the Shaanxi Ankang Hanyin Comprehensive Volunteer Service Team of Dongwang Volunteer Service went to her home to clean up at the invitation of Hu Miaojuan, a disabled elderly person in the Sunshine Community.
This old man unfortunately suffered from hemiplegia a few years ago, and he had difficulty moving and walking. She used to be an old teacher who paid attention to neatness, her daughter married away from home, and her wife passed away many years ago, and she lived alone and could not take care of herself. Because it was difficult to hire nurses, she had to turn to Dongwang volunteers for help. Volunteers are often available to her and are always available. In her mind, volunteers are like timely rain. She was deeply touched by the caring service and family-like care of the volunteers. She kept expressing her gratitude, and today she even sent a pennant to the volunteers to express her gratitude.
In the morning, volunteers came to her house as usual, put on quilts, make beds, tidy up, and repair faucets...... Everyone is busy and orderly working, and they are in full swing. After everyone's hard work, the old man's home has become clean and tidy again.
Every effort is rewarded, and every trust means responsibility. Volunteers learn the excellent traditional Chinese culture, integrate it into their hearts, and embody it in action. They do their filial piety for their children outside the home, so that their children can work with peace of mind and serve the society. In the service, the volunteers carried forward the excellent traditional virtues, cared for the disadvantaged, inherited the culture of filial piety, and established a good image of "passing on the help".
