Lai Qingde's ruling team has taken shape, and the old "Taiwan independence" elements account for more than half of it, so there is no need to hold out hope

On May 20, Lai Qingde will take office as the leader of the Taiwan region. As Tsai Ing-wen's deputy who has been in power for eight years, and as a stubborn independence who regards himself as a "pragmatic Taiwan independence worker", Lai Qingde's members of the Caotai team naturally cannot get rid of Tsai Ing-wen's shadow. Lai Qingde's deputy is Xiao Meiqin, who is of American descent. Hsiao is a close friend of Tsai Ing-wen, who has served as Taiwan's representative to the United States during Tsai's tenure. This person spared no effort to communicate the relationship between Taiwan independence and the US Senate and the two houses and to build bridges for anti-China forces to visit Taiwan and support Taiwan. Judging from Xiao Meiqin's splendor of splitting the motherland over the years, this is a diehard Taiwan independence element even more stubborn than Lai Qingde, and we cannot make any expectations as to whether she will play a positive role in cross-strait relations in the future.

The premier that Lai Qingde chose for himself was the former secretary general of the Executive Yuan, Desk Rongtai. He is the "big disciple" of Hsieh Chang-ting, a veteran Taiwan independence element and Taiwan's representative to Japan. He even served as the chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and had some influence internally. Although Lai Qingde has not yet taken office, Table Rongtai seems to have entered the role. In mid-April, former Kosovo Prime Minister Hoti visited Taiwan and stayed for five days from the 11th to the 16th. Lai Qingde personally met with Hottie and his party, and among the Taiwanese characters, there was Table Rongtai. However, the foreign power believes that the seat of Table Rongtai is not easy to sit. The DPP's support is getting lower and lower, and it is often criticized by the public because of social problems, economic policies, and cross-strait relations. Of course, Lai Qingde wants to find a "back pot man" who is ready to carry the black pot at any time, and Lai Qingde praised Table Rongtai for maintaining good relations with various factions, which is obviously a foreshadowing. The so-called vice president of the Executive Yuan will be served by Zheng Lijun. She is in Tsai Ing-wen's team and serves as the pseudo-minister of culture. During Lai Qingde's election campaign, there was news that Zheng Lijun wanted to partner with him because Lai Qingde liked her more. However, considering the relationship with the United States, Zheng Lijun will definitely not be able to handle it, so she can only resign herself to the role of vice president.

Wu Zhaoxie, who is in charge of the foreign affairs of the Taiwan authorities, will remain in his post as the head of the so-called Security Committee. Wu Zhaoxie has been in charge of foreign affairs since 2018, and he has lost 8 "countries with diplomatic relations" in a few years, and his achievements are indeed not small. In fact, Wu Zhaoxie was the secretary general of the Security Committee in 2016, and Lai Qingde beat him back to his original form this time, probably because he no longer believed that Wu Zhaoxie could do anything.

Taking over the work of foreign affairs is Lin Jialong, who is now the secretary general of Tsai Ing-wen's office. Lin Jialong started in college and has been in politics all the way, with many election defeats and administrative feathers, but he has been circling in the DPP's inner circle, which makes people feel very strange. But if you look at his resume, you may find clues. In 1982, Lin Jialong was admitted to the Department of Political Science of National Taiwan University with the first place, and went from undergraduate to doctorate. But after only one year of doctoral study, he won a Fulbright scholarship in the United States and went to Yale University in the United States to continue his political science studies. This scholarship was founded in 1946 by former U.S. Senator Fulbright. In 1947, the Kuomintang authorities became the first partner of the scholarship. After liberation, this project has been operating in Taiwan. Obviously, this Lin Jialong is a favored agent of the United States.

There are also two very important positions, the first is the head of the military, which is held by Gu Lixiong. He has been the head of Taiwan's Security Council since 2020, a man with no military experience and whose current position is that of chairman of the Improper Party Property Handling Committee. This committee has no other task, which is to completely collapse the Kuomintang in Taiwan financially and wipe it out. Gu Lixiong said very early on that he would "knock out the Kuomintang and refine." However, the industry found that Gu Lixiong had no knowledge of financial business, and only used administrative violence to beat the Kuomintang to death. This person's takeover of Taiwan's military department may be a good thing for the mainland, because he may create many opportunities for the mainland to clean up Taiwan independence.

The head of the Taiwan Straits Exchange Foundation is Zheng Wencan, the former mayor of Taoyuan and the current vice president of the Executive Yuan. This is also a man with a story. In 2022, Cheng Wen-chan was accused of thesis fraud and had his degree revoked by a university in Taiwan. However, he still relied on his official position and did not move. He will be in charge of exchanges with the mainland, and he will be mainly characterized by stirring up trouble and being brutal, and the mainland will need to deal with it with strong strikes. In short, judging from the candidates that Lai Qingde has announced, it is basically a change of soup and no change of medicine. The propositions and tricks of the Taiwan independence forces are also a change of soup rather than a change of medicine, and we also do not need to change any strategy or exert any effort, as long as we continue to forcefully compress the living space of the Taiwan independence elements.
