A few days ago, the Changning police carried out the eighth centralized investigation and rectification action of "Sharpening the Sword 2024", and the Jiangsu Road Police Station found that it had been converted into a youth hostel when it visited and inspected a residential house near Yuyuan Road.
Because the house had been rented in groups before, it became the focus of the police inspection during the concentrated rectification operation on April 13.
After entering the door, the police found that the 120-square-meter four-bedroom house was "stuffed" with 17 bunk wooden beds, with a total of 34 beds. Judging from the scene, the residents' clothes and belongings were disorderly, especially the drag board was hung and connected indiscriminately. Through careful inspection, the room is not equipped with fire extinguishers and safety exit signs, and there are large fire safety hazards.
In order to further clarify the situation of the case, the police learned in the preliminary verification that the so-called "youth hostel" here appeared on a number of well-known online platforms, and the words "only 40 yuan a day, a three-minute walk from Metro Line 2" in the advertisement were very "eye-catching", and were "favored" by many tourists who came to Shanghai because of their low prices.
With the deepening of the investigation, the police found that the hotel, known as the "youth hostel", had never applied for a special industry business license, and was a "black hotel" that lacked qualifications, was operated without permission, and was suspected of operating without permission.
Soon, the police locked up the actual operators of the hotel, Liu and Zhang, and arrested them at their temporary residence that afternoon.
According to Liu and Zhang's confessions after arriving at the case, since January this year, in order to obtain economic benefits, without permission, they have pretended to be a "regular army" in the name of "Youth Hostel" and operated the hotel without authorization in the form of daily beds with the help of online platforms.
In order to disguise themselves as a "regular" hotel, Liu and Zhang also used their crooked brains to try their best to change the hotel address on the online platform to a nearby business building, and then inform the guests of their real address and check-in method after the reservation is successful.
As of the time of the case, the "black hotel" had illegally made more than 120,000 yuan.
At present, the offenders Liu and Zhang were sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention and a fine of 500 yuan by the Changning police respectively in accordance with the law for the illegal act of operating without permission from the public security. At the same time, the Jiangsu Road Police Station, together with the Street Safety Office and the Urban Management Law Enforcement Squadron, banned the unlicensed youth hostel in accordance with the law.
