On April 23, AITO officially released the price of the new M5 model, with a price range of 249,800-279,800 yuan. The new car is still available in two versions, extended-range and pure electric, with the extended-range model costing 249,800-279,800 yuan and the pure electric model costing 269,800 yuan. The new M5 is mainly a further upgrade in configuration and design details. In addition, according to officials, the new car will be delivered in batches from May 15.
In terms of appearance, the overall change of the new car has not changed much, and only some details have been fine-tuned. Specifically, the new car is equipped with a closed air intake grille, the front of the car has a blackened LOGO design, a fusion lamp cluster design, and the silver trim strip on the lower surround has also been replaced with black. Other parts remain the same as cash.
On the side, the camera assembly on the fenders and the chrome trim around the windows have all been replaced with a blacked-out design. The new car also gets black twin five-spoke wheels with red brake calipers for a sporty look. The performance version features 20-inch wheels with Pirelli P ZERO performance tyres, and a long-range 19-inch rim with low-rolling resistance silent tyres.
The exterior also adds Tahitian Grey and Cosmopolitan Red, and is available in five colours: Gilt Black, Ceramic White, and Azure Blue. The new M5 is available in the RS version with a new Obsidian design and new Obsidian Sport wheels.
In terms of interior, the new car still continues the design of the previous generation model, and one detail change is that the speaker HUAWEI SOUND above the center console screen has changed from the previous metal honeycomb panel to a new style. In addition, the interior is available in three colourways: Feather Red, Amber Brown and Shaohua Apricot, and is equipped with a Nappa leather steering wheel and Shuyun headrests. It is worth mentioning that the new Wenjie M5 is upgraded to the same material Shuyun seat as the Wenjie M9.
In terms of power, the new M5 has two power options: pure electric and extended range. The extended-range version is equipped with a 1.5T engine as a range extender, with a maximum power of 152 horsepower, and the maximum power output of the electric motor is 200kW (272 horsepower)/360N·m for two-wheel drive and 365kW (496 horsepower)/675N·m for four-wheel drive, with a pure electric range of 255km, a comprehensive range of 1440km, and an acceleration of 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds. The new car is equipped with an all-aluminum alloy chassis, a front four-ball joint double wishbone + rear multi-link independent suspension, and HUAWEI DATS 2.0 intelligent coordination. Steering sensitivity is improved by 39%, lateral stability is improved by 9%, lateral impact feel is reduced by 13.8%, and the elk test is improved to 79 km/h.
