China's Ordinary National Road Series——No.129· G510 Perimeter Line

author:Jiangbei Tianchen

By the end of 2023, there are 200 ordinary national highways in the mainland, with a total mileage of more than 265,000 kilometers, and the dense network of ordinary national highways will closely connect various cities in the mainland, just like the capillaries of the human body, ensuring the efficient, fast and convenient circulation of people and materials between various cities in the mainland, and playing an irreplaceable and important role in promoting the development of the mainland's economy.

The two road network systems of ordinary national roads and national highways constitute the national roads of the mainland, both of which start with the letter G. Ordinary national highways are generally numbered in the form of G+3 Arabic numerals (i.e. GXXX) and are pronounced as XXX national highways (e.g., G318 is pronounced as 318 national highways).

This series will focus on China's ordinary national roads, and introduce them in detail from three aspects: basic information, provinces and cities passed, and value significance. At present, the mainland plans to build a total of 200 ordinary national highways. These 200 ordinary national roads are divided into four categories: 12 capital radiation lines, 47 north-south longitudinal lines, 60 east-west horizontal lines, and 81 liaison lines.

In this issue, we will introduce: G510 Weichang Manchu Mongolian Autonomous County - Chahar Right Wing Rear Banner Ordinary National Highway [Waicha Line]

Value significance

The starting point of the encirclement line is in Weichang Manchu Mongolian Autonomous County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, and the end point is in the right wing rear banner of Chahar, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The ordinary national highway is an important national passage connecting Hebei Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, constructing the transportation artery of important cities in the east-west direction of the southern Inner Mongolia Plateau (mainly including Chengde City, Xilin Gol League, Zhangjiakou City, Ulanqab City, etc.), and building an east-west connection bridge in the southern part of the Inner Mongolia Plateau. At the same time, the paddock can not only communicate with Chahar through the fence line, but also through other ordinary national roads in the Chahar region, and travel to the rest of the country at high speed and efficiently, which is essential to strengthen the communication between the paddock and the rest of the country and Chahar and even the rest of the country.
