Marriott International's sustainability strategy includes strategies such as: designing resource-efficient hotels, introducing technologies to track and reduce energy and water consumption, as well as waste and food waste, increasing renewable energy use, managing water risks, driving third-party sustainability certification, supporting innovative ecosystem restoration initiatives, and implementing due diligence and local sourcing.

In support of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Marriott International created the Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction sustainability and social impact platform to guide companies in delivering positive and sustainable impact in the places where they do business and addressing pressing social, environmental and economic issues around the world.
