In December 2021, Beijing Lenovo Public Welfare Foundation and Yuanshan Public Welfare Foundation jointly carried out the "Rural Science Curriculum Development Research" in Hohhot, and after learning about the development status of science courses in local rural schools, the "Lenovo Science Lessons" project was launched in March 2022, covering 5 banner counties, 15 schools, 24 classes, and nearly 1,000 students in Hohhot.
In order to help the growth of rural school teachers, cultivate the teaching ability of local science teachers and improve the teaching level. On April 22, the opening ceremony of the offline training activities for teachers of the "Lenovo Science Class" project was held in the first primary school of Qingshuihe County.
Combined with the current form of education, the training emphasized the necessity of this training, pointed out the important tasks shouldered by the current science teachers, and encouraged everyone to combine teaching and research with the growth of students and the development of the school, find new ways and new methods to solve problems with the help of practical research, promote their own education and teaching research, and improve the level and effect of education and teaching.
At the training meeting, the lecturer popularized more theoretical knowledge for the teachers around the "Classroom Collective Discussion and Effectiveness Observation Technique Analysis", and explained it in simple terms, with pictures and texts, so that the participating teachers had a further understanding of the teaching work, and pointed out the direction for the teachers' future teaching practice.
Subsequently, in the science class carried out in the experimental classroom, the instructor guided the students to observe and think about scientific problems through knowledge introduction, group observation, group report and other forms. Other participating teachers listened to the lectures in groups and recorded feedback through teaching concepts, scientific thinking and other aspects.
It is understood that the Lenovo science course project is based on the existing situation and problems of rural science courses, customizes and develops teaching content according to the characteristics of rural students, provides complete teaching and research resources, provides students with hardware and experimental equipment supporting the course content, and sets up a distance teaching team to deliver high-quality science course content to rural schools through "dual-teacher live classes". So far, the project has been carried out for 3 years. At present, 4 phases of advanced teacher training have been carried out, 90 local teachers have been trained, and 1 teacher competition activity and 1 student maker activity have been carried out.
Through this training, the participating teachers have further understood and improved their understanding of education and teaching and their ability to operate scientific experiments, which has played a great role in promoting science teaching in the future and laid a solid foundation for improving the quality of science teaching in our county.
