"Junko, come on": the gap between the inspirational on the screen and the reality
In the dead of night, I accidentally encountered Zhang Deshun's live broadcast on my mobile phone screen. For most people, live streaming may be just a way to pass the time, but for me, Zhang Deshun is a special existence. She is not only the leader of the current national marathon team, but also the epitome of my love and dedication to marathon.
Zhang Deshun, a Bai girl from Dali, Yunnan Province, continues to move forward on the road of the marathon with her perseverance and writes her own legend. And I, as a person who loves the sport deeply, am full of respect and admiration for her every run.
During the live broadcast, I learned about the existence of the movie "Junzi, Come On" based on Zhang Deshun. This film is both familiar and unfamiliar to me. Familiarly, I've heard its name through various channels, and unfamiliarly, I've never really felt it on the big screen. Unfortunately, the film didn't do well in theaters, and I missed the chance to get up close and personal with it.
Fortunately, Zhang Deshun revealed the news that the movie can be watched on online TV during the live broadcast. I couldn't wait to turn on the TV and pay to watch the movie. However, the process of watching the movie made me a little disappointed.
"Shunzi, Come On" tries to show Zhang Deshun's inspirational life through the screen, but the film is not satisfactory in terms of narrative and production. In particular, the portrayal of the character of Junko's father in the film is too exaggerated and funny, making it difficult to feel his true emotions and complex character as a father. Such a character setting not only does not match the overall atmosphere of the film, but also makes people question the production level of the film.
As someone who loves marathons, I naturally want to see more films that truly reflect the lives and spirits of the athletes. However, "Junko, Come On" left me with a sense of the gap between reality and the screen. It tries to present an inspirational story in the form of a film, but it is difficult to fully immerse itself in it due to the lack of production.
Of course, we can't deny the development of the entire Chinese film industry just because of the shortcomings of one movie. But I hope that future films will pay more attention to authenticity and depth, and can really dig into and present the stories and spirit behind the athletes. At the same time, I also hope that more excellent directors and actors will pay attention to the theme of marathon and bring us more touching works.
Although the film is not satisfactory, Zhang Deshun's own story and spirit are still worth learning and inheriting. She has created brilliant results on the marathon course with her hard work and sweat, and also inspires us to continue to pursue our dreams and goals. I hope that there will be more excellent works in the future that can truly convey the power of this spirit, so that we can feel more inspirational and moved on the screen.
