At 9 o'clock in the night of November 9, 1941, after Yang Chongyao and other wives and children of Tongtiangou in Dizhang Township rested, they knocked on the door of the cave of the second brother Yang Yaoguang (19th), and asked the second brother to take care of the two children.
In the early morning of the next day, Yang Yaoguang hurriedly went to the eldest brother's cave to inquire, and the eldest sister-in-law said that the eldest brother was not there, Yaoguang asked around, and two days had passed without finding it, and he knew that the eldest brother had gone out. Since then, Yaoguang and his wife Guo Guifeng have taken on the responsibility of taking care of their eldest brother's family.
At this time, the eldest nephew Cheng Xian was 6 years old, and the second nephew Fu Xian was 3 years old. Yaoguang discussed with his sister-in-law, and the sister-in-law decided to go back to her mother's hometown to live in Houyu Village.
Since then, every year during the Chinese New Year, Yaoguang personally went to Houyu Village to pick up the two children and return to Tongtiangou's hometown for the New Year. After 9 years, the eldest nephew Chengxian grew up, engaged to Liu Suyun of Houyu Village, and the second nephew Fuxian passed on to his grandfather.
In 1949, under the leadership of Chairman Mao, the founding of New China, New China was in ruins, in 1951, Cheng Xian responded to the call of the country to participate in the work and construction of the motherland in the Baoji Engineering Section of the Shaanxi Railway Bureau. Cheng Xian goes home once a year during the Spring Festival, and every time he goes to Tongtiangou on the first day of the New Year to worship his uncle and aunt.
The characters in the previous story are all my relatives: grandfather - Yang Chongyao, second grandfather - Yang Yaoguang, second grandmother - Guo Guifeng, father - Cheng Xian, mother - Liu Suyun, uncle - Fu Xian, eldest brother - Yang Lianzhu. I remember that when I was three years old, I went to Tongtiangou with my parents to visit the second grandfather and second grandmother, and the second grandfather bought me a rattle and sugar cubes, and the second grandmother fried a plate of shredded meat for me, and also filled me with a lot of peanuts, walnuts, and persimmons, and when my mother called me home, I was puzzled and said: "Grandparents are here, why should we go to Houyu? Grandpa said that this is my home, I will not leave."
Later, every September, the second master would walk 20 miles and bring us a load of persimmons. Whenever this happens, my mother asks me to wait at the gate for a few days.
Every time the second master arrived at the gate, I saw him sweating profusely, and I happily went up to hold his big hand and bounced home. Later, as we grew up and our younger siblings were born, the family population became larger, and the second master sent persimmons from once to three times a year. When I was 5 years old, I went to the field to cut pigweed, and my shoulder hurt with the basket, and I thought: Doesn't Grandpa's shoulder hurt?
In the future, every summer vacation and annual vacation, I will go back to my hometown with my younger siblings to live in the second master's house for a while, the second master supervises us to study, takes us out to play, and the second grandmother changes the method to give us good food, washes our faces, sews clothes, and nails buttons, and we are reluctant to go back to school at the end of each holiday.
Every year on the first day of the Lunar New Year, my brother and sister will go back to our hometown to pay New Year's greetings to the second grandfather and second grandmother, and each time the second grandmother sends us a red envelope, at that time, I feel that I am the happiest child in the world!
One day in February 1969, someone from the Baoji Railway Bureau called my mother away, and 20 days later, my mother came back sadly, and I learned that my father had died in the line of duty. I seemed to have grown up suddenly, but I comforted my mother and grandfather not to cry.
The second master knew about this, and walked 40 miles back and forth between the two villages every day, holding my younger brother and holding my hand every time he came, and this lasted for a month.
On September 5th, this is the day when the second master sends persimmons, and I went to meet the second master at ten o'clock in the morning, I think, my father is gone, I am already a man, and I want to go a little farther to pick up my grandfather. So I walked along the path to the south for 5 miles, and found the second master standing on the side of the road to rest, he opened the button of his shirt, wiped his sweat with a handkerchief for a while, and fanned the wind with a handkerchief for a while.
I walked forward quickly, and the second master said in surprise: "Wen'er, why did you run so far? Are you tired?"
I said, "Master, are you tired, do you have a sore shoulder?"
The second master said, "It's not painful or tired, grandpa is strong!"
Since then, every year from September 5th to 10th, the second master round trip 6 times, walk 120 miles, send three loads of persimmons; every year on the twentieth day of the lunar month, the second master picks up vermicelli, tofu, peanuts, persimmons and other New Year's goods for us to use for the New Year, at that time the vermicelli, tofu are braving the cold, with a stone mill step by step to push out, a push is a whole day, sweat can soak the clothes, the degree of hard work is unimaginable for modern people.
Later, when I grew up a little, I wore a bamboo basket filled with fritters, oil horns, steamed buns, dim sum, etc., and when I walked with relatives, I realized the hardships and unbearable walking with weights, and only then did I know that it was not easy for the second master to carry a burden of 100 pounds and walk 20 miles to send us persimmons and New Year's goods! Only then did I know how difficult it was for the second master to persist for decades! Only then did I know that the value of a load of persimmons is not much, but the brotherhood and grandchildren it contains are heavy! This affection is a priceless treasure!
The second grandfather and the second grandmother have worked so hard and heartily to accompany us in life and growth, and it can be said that we are "as kind as a mountain"! Every inch of our progress has deeply left their imprint! In an instant, the figure of the second grandfather and the second grandmother became taller and taller in front of my eyes, and he completely became a "great man"! How many times, when I picked up the red, soft and sweet persimmon, I was reluctant to eat it, and every time I put it to the point where I could no longer put it, I ate it without dropping.
On September 1, 1976, I appeared in front of the second master of Tongtiangou with a basket, and the second master was surprised and distressed: "Wen'er, you are so young that you dare not bear the burden, and you will not grow taller under pressure." ”
I said, "Grandpa, it's okay, I'm already a man, energetic."
Helplessly, the second master and I went up the tree to twist persimmons together, and carried the burden to Houyu together.
In 1983, my fourth brother and I went to Tongtiangou to twist persimmons, and this time under my repeated persuasion, the second master saw that I had grown up, so I let my younger brother and I carry persimmons home.
Since then, every year in September, we go back to our hometown to twist persimmons, we have to go to the second grandfather and two grandmothers to sit down, the second grandfather asked about the study and work, and repeatedly encouraged, the second grandmother asked us about our physical condition, family situation, look through our clothes to see if there is any damage; every year on the first day of the new year, we all walk 20 miles from the bottom of our hearts to kowtow to the second grandfather and second grandmother, and keep this rule set by our parents until the death of grandparents.
On August 10, 1985, my second wife passed away due to ineffective medical treatment, and when I left, I gently patted the back of her hand to comfort her, but tears flowed uncontrollably like broken threads.
After the death of the second grandmother, several of our brothers kept a vigil for 5 days and 5 nights, and never stayed away.
On July 16, 1987, the second grandfather died due to illness, and when he left, he took my hand and asked me about my family, let me remember the suffering of the old society, and teach me how to treat my family well, how to honor my mother, and how to behave in a good way! I promised him that I would lead the whole family to take the right path, serve the country, and protect the whole family!
