After Yoon Suk-yeol's election fiasco, he was excluded from the G7, and the opposition parties: the price of provoking China

Yoon Suk-yeol, who has just suffered a crushing defeat in the parliamentary election, has suffered another heavy blow in diplomacy and exhausted South Korea's resources, but is still excluded from the G7 summit. In this regard, the South Korean opposition parties bluntly said that this is the price to provoke China, why do they say that?

According to the global network, on June 13 this year, the G7 summit will be held in Italy. According to a number of South Korean diplomatic sources, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has exhausted diplomatic resources in order to participate in the G7 summit. The reason why Yoon Suk-yeol attaches so much importance to the G7 summit is that he has just experienced a crushing defeat in the South Korean parliamentary election, making himself a "lame president". In order to get out of the unfavorable situation, Yoon Suk-yeol hopes to achieve political achievements in diplomacy. However, reality has dealt a heavy blow to Yoon Suk-yeol, and he still did not get the invitation to the G7 summit. In this regard, Kang Seon-woo, a spokesman for the Democratic Party of Korea, the largest opposition party in South Korea, said that this is the price of Yoon Suk-yeol to provoke China. After coming to power, Yoon Suk-yeol alienated China and South Korea and tried to bring relations closer to the United States and Japan, but the results were disastrous.

As far as Yoon Suk-yeol is concerned, as an "agent of the United States", he very much wants South Korea to join the G7 group and enter the "core alliance circle" of the United States, just like Japan. In 2023, the G7 Hiroshima Summit hosted by Japan will invite Yoon Suk-yeol to attend. However, the G7 summit in Germany in 2022, as well as the Italian summit this year, excluded South Korea on the grounds of "extraterritorial countries". Some analysts have pointed out that there are two superficial reasons for this situation. First, although South Korea is an ally of the United States, its "level" is not high. Second, the G7 is not a single piece of steel, with Britain, Canada, and Japan forming a "small circle" with the United States, while France, Germany, and Italy belong to the European faction. South Korea is trying to draw closer to the United States and Japan, and Italy, the host of the G7 summit, will not invite them, because it is tantamount to sending a signal of favoring the United States.

But the most important reason is that Yoon Suk-yeol has completely messed up South Korea's diplomatic environment, making countries scoff at it. After Yoon Suk-yeol came to power, in order to submit a "letter of surrender" to the United States, he directly declared that North Korea was an "enemy". In response to the U.S. "China containment strategy," Yoon Suk-yeol took the initiative to interfere in the affairs of the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea, and also urged South Korean companies to stay away from China in economic and trade and invest in the United States. However, the United States did not actually give anything in return for Yoon's enthusiastic response. The U.S.-South Korea free trade agreement, which South Korea wants most, has not been given by the United States. Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, asked Yoon Suk-yeol why he provoked China? Lee Jae-myung pointed out that Yoon Suk-yeol's series of operations have gradually turned China from South Korea's largest export market and trade surplus country into the largest trade deficit country, bringing irreversible losses to the South Korean economy.

At the same time, Yoon Suk-yeol's approach also made South Korea miss a major opportunity, that is, to join the BRICS organization. After the completion of the expansion, the total population of the BRICS countries accounts for 46% of the world's population, the land area is 34% of the world's land area, and the total GDP has reached 28% of the world's, which has surpassed the G7 in an all-round way. In this round of BRICS expansion, more than 40 countries submitted applications, and only 6 countries were finally invited to join. As early as 2010, there were voices in South Korea to "join the BRICS". At that time, the South Korean media "JoongAng Ilbo" said that no matter what way it is adopted, South Korea should become a member of the BRICS. However, judging from the current situation, South Korea has gradually distanced itself from the BRICS countries and cannot integrate into the circle of the G7 group.
