2024 World Book Day "Read Good Books, Write Good Essays" Cultural Exchange Meeting

Gather in the ancient city of Buyeo to enjoy the joy of reading

In this season of spring returning to the earth and all things recovering, we are bathed in the good spring and ushered in the 29th World Book Day.

In order to implement the guidelines and policies of national reading, "Northern Urban Culture", Fuyu Wuyi Literature and Art Salon, and Shiying Street Reading Club jointly held a reading and writing exchange meeting with the theme of "Reading Good Books and Writing Good Essays" on the morning of April 18 on the third floor of the Union Restaurant in Fuyu City.

More than 50 literature lovers from all walks of life in Songwon and Buyeo gathered together to participate in this unique literary feast.

Before the start of the meeting, Qi Zheng, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Shiying Street and chairman of the street trade union, Ma Shiyou, chairman of the Fuyu Writers Association, and Gong Jisen, secretary of the Party branch of Union Village, delivered speeches on this reading club, and they emphasized and elaborated on the impact of reading on a person's growth and progress. A good book can often change a person's life, and the spiritual realm of a nation depends to a large extent on the reading level of the whole nation. In order to build a harmonious society and further stimulate the enthusiasm of the whole people for reading, it has played a driving role.

Then, Ms. Zhang Xiaoyan, editor-in-chief of the volunteer service team of "Northern Urban Culture", told her inspirational story of being accompanied by books for many years, igniting dreams and concentrating on writing. Liu Chengtao, vice president of Wuyi Literature and Art Salon, summarized in detail the creative process of Wuyi Literature and Art Salon from its establishment to development and growth in the past five years, as well as a series of gratifying results achieved by members in reading and writing, which is very encouraging.

Tang Xinghua, president of the "Reading Club" of Fuyu Shiying Street and president of the Party Affairs Office of the Alliance Community, talked about the fun that reading and studying bring to work and life, and the language was simple and unpretentious, inspiring people to work hard.

Mr. Li Mingjun, the general consultant of the volunteer service team of "Northern Metropolis Culture", said with deep feelings, Buyeo is my birthplace, and it is also the place where I let my dreams fly. Since leaving his hometown at the age of 20, he has rarely returned to his hometown. Because he was invited to participate in this reading exchange meeting, he was able to revisit his hometown today. With his more than 30 years of experience working in Jilin Oilfield Newspaper, he personally realized the importance of reading.

Under the chairmanship of Zhou Haisheng, president of Wuyi Literature and Art Salon, the exchange meeting kicked off. The spacious and bright conference room is filled with a strong smell of books. Everyone spoke freely, expressed their opinions, and expressed their reading thoughts and experiences. The topics that everyone talked about revolved around the impact that books had on them, which was very moving.

The participants shared the joy and joy of reading books in a variety of different forms.

In the middle of the colorful reading exchange meeting, interspersed with calligraphy, paper-cutting and talent show, these down-to-earth works of art won high praise and applause from the participants, showing the superb art and unique style of Buyeo folk artists.

This reading exchange meeting not only shortened the distance between the regions, but also promoted the sincere friendship between the cultural groups of the two places.
