A set of popular science picture books that are both humanistic and scientific

"Silk Road" is a popular science traditional culture picture book, telling the story of a Shu expedition team with a treasure woven with silk, starting from the Sichuan Basin, all the way over the mountains and mountains, flowing across the river, with bravery and wisdom, finally arrived in the legendary ancient India, spreading Chinese silk to more distant places.

"I once read a story of 'The Wild of Ousi' from the "Classic of Mountains and Seas", combined with the records of the ancestors, so I thought of using a little girl as the protagonist to create a picture book about the origin of ancient Shu silk and the poisonous path of Shu. Wu Jing said that in order to complete her creation, she visited the Chengdu Museum, the Sichuan Museum and the Sanxingdui Museum many times to obtain information materials, and many of the picture scenes and utensils in the picture book are inspired by national treasures and world-class cultural relics.

For example, the picture of "picking mulberry" comes from the bronze kettle of the Warring States period of picking mulberry and feasting, the "weaving silk" comes from the Shu brocade loom model unearthed from the Han tomb of Laoguanshan in Chengdu, and the "exotic bazaar" comes from the relief of the ruins of Persepolis in Iran. In addition, Wu Jing consulted the pictures and videos of ancient India and ancient Persia, and changed them while drawing, "The costumes and image settings of the Shu people have been changed five times, and the characters of ancient India have also been changed three or four times." ”

In the process of creation, Wu Jing drove to many places along the Shu Body Poison Road several times, and the steep geographical environment in southwest Sichuan made her feel deeply: "The Shu Road is difficult, how did the ancient Shu people cross the mountains and mountains, cross the big rivers, and open up this trade road that has passed through thousands of years?"

Wu Jing borrowed the colors and painting styles of Dunhuang murals to fully demonstrate the customs, markets, trade, landforms, transportation, and cultural products along the "Southwest Silk Road". There are also many hidden cultural and museum knowledge in the book, which are expected to be discovered by children in pictures. In the process of learning about history and the Silk Road, which we Chinese are proud of, children can broaden their horizons, increase their knowledge reserves, and stimulate their desire to explore the unknown.
