It is reported that Apple currently has three types of robots publicly available. The first was Daisy, a disassembly robot capable of disassembling up to 1.2 million iPhones of 29 different models per year. Apple says that with the help of our user and employee programs and the participation of dismantling robots, we will be able to recycle nearly 40,000 tons of electronic waste worldwide in 2023 alone.

The other two are Dave and Taz, who just arrived in China this time. Among them, Dave can disassemble the tactile bow to help recover the rare earth elements (tungsten and steel), while Taz can help recover the rare earth elements in the magnet.

With the rapid advancement of technology and the continuous growth of consumer demand, the replacement of electronic products is also accelerating. And every iPhone contains a certain amount of precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum, which are not only expensive to manufacture, but also often accompanied by serious environmental pollution in the mining and refining process.

In recent years, Apple has been increasing its recycling efficiency so that more materials can be reused in the development and production of new products, creating a virtuous cycle.
