Xie Yeting, deputy head of Tuohula Township, introduced that as the main rice producing area in Wensu County, Tuohula Township regards the "five good methods" of improved seeds, good fields, good methods, good opportunities and good systems as an important means to promote the high-quality development of the rice industry, with a rice planting area of 27,500 mu in the township in 2024 and a planned rice seedling raising of 850 mu.
Relying on the Wensu Rice Experimental Station of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xinjiang Jinfengyuan Seed Industry Co., Ltd. and other institutions and enterprises, Wensu County has adopted the "Five Good Methods" and continuously optimized the variety structure, increasing the yield of rice per mu from 690.3 kg in 2021 to 716.53 kg, which is more than 30 kg higher than the average yield of rice per mu in the autonomous region, reducing the incidence of diseases and pests by about 15%, and greatly improving the yield and quality of rice.
"Xinnong Jingyi No. 4" is a new high-quality, high-yield saline-alkali tolerant rice variety cultivated by the rice innovation team of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and approved by the national crop varieties in 2020, and will be listed as the leading rice variety in the autonomous region in 2023. "This variety has the characteristics of lodging resistance and disease resistance, and its physical and chemical quality has reached the national second-level standard of high-quality rice, and the promotion prospect is very good. Wensu County pays attention to online and offline efforts at the same time, organizes 17 exhibition and sales activities, builds 35 online and offline sales outlets, 4 live broadcast bases, and has a rice warehouse capacity of 103,400 tons, covering 13 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), with an annual sales volume of 70,000 tons and sales of 600 million yuan.
