The most beautiful April day in the world is a good time to read. On the occasion of the 29th World Book Day, on April 22, the national reading series of "Reading for the Four Seasons" held by Wuhan East Lake High-tech Zone was launched on the lawn of the "Calla Lily" Square of the Wuhan New Energy Research Institute Building.
From now until the end of this year, Hubei Provincial Library and East Lake High-tech Zone will work together to hold a series of reading promotion activities with the Optics Valley Study Room as the position, with "spring, summer, autumn and winter" as the context, and carry out 20 reading activities in different forms according to age, audience and theme, so as to attract more citizens to feel the changes of the four seasons in reading, and experience the spiritual harvest of books as good teachers and good friends.
The above activities were sponsored by the Hubei Provincial Library and the Propaganda Department of the Party Working Committee of the East Lake High-tech Zone. At the opening ceremony, more than 100 people participated in the opening ceremony, including representatives of the Management Committee of East Lake High-tech Zone, Wuhan Optics Valley Financial Holding Group, Wuhan Institute of Technology, as well as Optics Valley Future City enterprises, readers of Optics Valley Study, college students and representatives of mainstream media.
Lectures, tent poetry meetings and other activities are wonderful
The relevant person in charge of the Hubei Provincial Library said that in order to continuously meet the new spiritual and cultural needs of the people, the Hubei Provincial Library and Optics Valley have launched a linkage, hoping to continue to provide high-quality reading resources and services in the places where young people gather, and help the whole society form a strong atmosphere of loving reading, reading good books, and being good at reading.
At the event site, the recitation performance brought by the Wuhan Institute of Technology club and the tent poetry meeting next to the venue have also become beautiful scenery. Wei Guifang, deputy secretary-general of the Hubei Provincial Poetry Society, shared the literary interaction experience between ancient poets and the land of Jingchu for poetry lovers, and encouraged everyone to read poetry and view history.
The scene set up links such as reciting ancient poems, throwing pots, flying flower games, and juju experience, which attracted many guests to stop and interact and take photos to check in.
The opening ceremony also invited Liang Qinyuan, director of the Liang Shuming Research Center of the Confucius Foundation of China, a national psychological counselor, and a specially invited psychological expert from the "Specializing in Peking University" research group of the Social Investigation Center of Peking University.
As the keynote speaker of the reading and sharing session of the event, he combined his own experience with his grandfather Liang Shuming's experience in Confucian Confucius, advocated reading the original books and understanding the original works, and brought a wonderful sharing to the guests, which won bursts of applause.
Optics Valley released a year-round reading promotion plan
On the same day, the East Lake High-tech Zone released the content of the annual reading promotion activities. According to the plan, the district will take several Optics Valley study rooms as a position, and carry out 20 reading activities such as the Yangtze River Forum, Shahu Book Club, Children's Fun, e-Haiyue Reading, and Etu Exhibition by age, audience, and theme.
According to reports, these activities cover a variety of forms such as knowledge lectures, tent poetry clubs, parent-child reading, children's art exhibitions, etc., focusing on the national reading groups from children to college students, from young people to silver-haired, so that more people can feel the changes of the four seasons in reading and experience a colorful life in "joyful" reading.
In the process of reading together, you will always meet fellow travelers and guides. At the launching ceremony, the collection and selection of "Optics Valley Study Reading Recommendation Officer" was also announced.
This solicitation is open to the public, regardless of education, occupation and age group, as long as they love reading and are willing to share, they can sign up to participate. The event started in April, and after four stages of selection, registration, preliminary evaluation and final selection, it is planned to announce the final list in November, and award honorary certificates to 10 reading recommendation officers.

Grassroots reading promotion has been launched one after another
Grassroots units such as streets and communities in the East Lake High-tech Zone have also held various forms of reading promotion activities in recent days, so that the fragrance of books can infiltrate more corners of Optics Valley.
On April 22, the New Era Civilization Practice Institute and Cultural Station on Leopard Street jointly held a parent-child reading activity in the Leopard Library. The event invited Chen Mingxia, the most beautiful reader in Wuhan in 2023, as the keynote speaker, to explain the importance of picture book reading for children's growth for parent-child families, and read two classic picture books, "My Dad" and "My Mother".
She also designed a number of interactive sessions to help parents better guide their children to read picture books, so that children can experience the fun of reading and exercise their thinking and expression skills through participation.
On April 20, the Zuoling Street Cultural and Sports Service Center hosted a reading promotion activity with the theme of "Picking Shellfish in the Sea of Books". After more than 30 children received the "Index Map of the Sea of Books", they couldn't wait to find their favorite books. 7-year-old Yang Yufei found the picture book "Hawking", and under the guidance of his mother, he pointed to the pinyin and characters in the book and read it with his children word by word.
Chen Cong, one of the top ten readers in Hubei Province, taught the children how to make picture books and how to make picture book stories more moving.
In addition, 7 Optics Valley study rooms, some neighborhood community libraries, Optics Valley Reading Clubs and other units and platforms have also held reading promotion activities with different themes in recent days, with many participants.
