Overwatch 2 Season 10 is now live with a new hero, Daring Do

author:The game knew it early

No risk-taking is possible without a fearless attitude

Break new ground as the newest offensive hero, Daring Down, a spirited archaeologist who translates his passion for history into bold heroic action. Equipped with a large drill bit and a variety of earth-shaking abilities, Daring Do will bring a whole new dimension to the battlefield (and underground). Dig in, dash, burrow into enemy teams, and inflict massive damage to outwit your enemies and unearth victory.

Dreadnought's main attack is harnessing the power of the Smart Excavator, firing unstable earth-shaking energy that explodes and deals burst damage. When using the Ground Penetrating skill, Daring Do becomes invincible underground, while gaining momentum for a precise ambush attack when returning to the surface. He can then use the drill dash to dash forward, knocking off his opponent while keeping his distance. When you're ready to pick up any enemies stupid enough to stand in your way, Daring Do uses his ultimate Ground Shock to unleash a massive shockwave. Whether you're stealthy along underground paths or dashing out of the ground for close-quarters combat, the dauntless versatility can wreak havoc on your enemies.

Dive into the battle with all Overwatch heroes now

We want all players to enjoy the exciting experience that each hero brings. Therefore, starting with Daring No, as soon as players have completed the "New Player Experience", they will be able to instantly unlock all past and present heroes, and future heroes will also be available immediately. Also, due to the great hands-on experience results that Daring Do had during the Hero Trial, we've made some tweaks to his skillset. We're also excited to announce that Dauntless will be available to players in competitive battles at the start of Season 10.

This is a significant change over past heroes, but we've always wanted to make new heroes available in competitive battles at the start of the new season of Battle 2. Previously, we wanted to make sure that the new heroes didn't have any bugs or particularly noticeable balance issues, and we wanted to give players enough time to unlock heroes from the Battle Pass. However, thanks to the recent Hero Beta, and the mechanics that now unlock all heroes, we're confident that Daring Do will jump into the fray right away. As a result, you can move forward fearlessly and break new ground. As a result, you can move forward fearlessly and break new ground.

Fight for the opposite faction in Mirror Attack

Embark on an adventure in the limited-time event "Mirror Attack" and explore an upside-down world that is the opposite of reality. In this mirror universe, people of good character fall into the ways of evil, and malevolent forces become heroes. Switch sides and experiment with new heroes and abilities, such as Task Force Commander Doom's powerful blocking shield, Vengeful Mercy's Soul Burning Detonation, and Agent Croma's Detective Shadow's poison protection trick. Make reality even more distorted and fight in the redesigned Defenders Base: Gibraltar captured by the Talon Forces. Let's explore a unique mirror universe for a limited time from April 24 to May 14.

A whole new way to earn and unlock rewards

Based on feedback from our players, we're working to make rewards more accessible and give players more control over their Overwatch 2 experience. To accomplish this, we're moving Douglas rewards from Weekly Challenges to the Battle Pass, where players can easily earn Douglas Coin while playing. But that's not all, we're increasing the number of Fighting Coins you can earn each Season, and you can now earn up to 600 Fighting Coins through the Battle Pass.

Choose your mythical path

In Season 10, we're introducing Mythic Prism, which will allow players to pick their favorite Mythic Hero look. The best way to collect Mythic Prisms is to level up to the Premium Battle Pass. The Mythic Prisms you collect can be used to unlock and upgrade Mythic Hero Looks, as well as unlock more Lookout Customizations. After completing the Premium Battle Pass, you'll get 80 Prisms, which is enough to fully unlock a full Mythic Look. Therefore, leveling up the Battle Pass is the best way to get the Prism of Myth each Season.

In this Season, the latest Mythical Hero is Vengeance Mercy! Dr. Angela Ziegler, alias "Vengeance", leads the Talon in their fight for a better world: a world in which she is in complete control of life and death. Mythical Vengeance Mercy will be available in three new colorways and masks, as well as two hairstyle options and a variation of the Angel's Staff to unlock.

Don't play mercy often? That's okay. You can also use the Mythic Prism to pick up a selection of previously selected Mythic Hero skins, such as the Mythic Biochemical Ghost Genji, Amaterasu Okriko, and Galactic Emperor Sigma, or simply keep the Mythic Prism and use them later to exchange for new Mythic Cosmetics items that may appear in the Shop.

In the Battle Pass, blur the lines between good and evil

Reverse Evil, Heroes Fall: Purchase the Mirrored Attack-themed Season 10 Premium Battle Pass to earn over 80 tiers of rewards. Collect new Legendary Looks, including Agent Cromar Shadow, Reclaimer Cimetta, Task Force Commander Ogendim Doom Punch King, Claw Order Brigitte, Captain Racuva Deadly Girl, and more. Delve deeper into the Mirror Universe with the Ultimate Battle Pass Pack, which includes 2,000 Fighting Coins, 20 Levels Advancement, and Legendary Outfits for Reinhardt, the Fallen Knight and Grand Commander Amalia.

Clash for victory

Get ready to play the blood-soaked Clash game mode, a limited-time playable mode kicking off Season 10. This ultimate tug-of-war mode will challenge both teams to capture a stronghold along a linear route. On this symmetrical map, we have cleverly set up five capture strongholds. In order to emerge victorious, both teams must deftly occupy and defend their strongholds. Variable spawn points and simplified map routes will help players accelerate back to the battlefield, making the battle experience more exciting and fulfilling.

The head-to-head trial will be available on the new map "Hanaoka". Players can explore this new area within the popular area "Flower Village" and conquer new battlefields while enjoying familiar scenery. From April 17th to April 30th, don't forget to try out the Clash mode at the Playground.

Hot Roll Out Hero Update

The Explosive Steel Ball will roll into the battlefield with an updated skill set. Players with a Ball of Fire can now choose whether or not to transfer some of the extra shield value to nearby teammates. This allows the Explosive Steel Ball to use an auto-adjusting shield to protect your teammates while charging into enemy lines. The Steady Hook has also been updated to make it easier to control when swinging: when the Hook is attached to the terrain of the map, it is now possible to press the primary attack to withdraw the Explosive Steel Ball, further increasing mobility. Finally, the cooldown of the Steady Hook has also been adjusted, and if the speed of the fireball is not reached, a portion of the cooldown will be refunded.

There are a variety of other balance changes this season. Since we launched the core gameplay update last season, Grimace and Glitter have become pretty strong characters, so we've toned down their skill sets. In order to balance the initial burst damage of the Horror Implant Virus, we've reduced the damage over time of this ability. Flashing Pulse Bombs are now harder to stick to targets, making them slightly easier to deal with. Over the course of the season, many of the Flesh Shield-type heroes will also be enhanced a bit, allowing heroes like Reinhardt to have a bigger impact on the outcome of the battle when using abilities like Ground Split. Finally, we'll be tweaking the damage and healing abilities of some support heroes, including Moira and Ilari. We've also enhanced Weaver to make his skillset work as intended.

There are some major updates to Competitive Battles. First, any Medallion Gold weapon can now be unlocked with 2024 Competitive Points. Please note that you will not be able to use Classic Competitive Points and 2024 Competitive Points at the same time when redeeming any Medallion Gold Weapon Variations.

We've removed the party restriction to make it easy for players to play competitive matches with their friends. Teams with very different skill levels are classified as "disparity teams". Disparity teams will only be paired with other disparity teams, which means that your matches may be a little less exciting, with longer queues and less progress in the rankings after the match.

The Protective Force Arena has also been updated, with the neutral penalty updated for both non-ranked and competitive battle modes. Finally, Live Info now includes server-side functionality to hide your name from your teammates and opponents in matches, not just in your own client. You can learn more about party limits, mitigating disruptive behavior, and other future updates in our recent R&D updates and Force Fields articles.

Fair and fun competitive battles are one of the most important aspects of our team, and we will continue to upgrade the protective force field to mitigate disrupting the gameplay experience.
