The Jialing River Bridge spans Gaoping District and Jialing District of Nanchong City, and is a 2,309-meter-long, semi-floating system symmetrical double-tower double-cable-faced concrete cable-stayed bridge. The main tower of the bridge is in the shape of a vase-shaped cable tower, with a height of 116.55 meters and a height of about 40 floors, which is extremely difficult to construct.
The Chengnan Expressway expansion project will start in September 2022 and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025. Up to now, 58% of the main line subgrade has been completed, 14% of the pavement has been completed, and 53% of the bridge and culvert tunnel project has been completed.
The project is the largest expressway expansion project under construction in Sichuan Province, and after the expansion and transformation, it will become the first two-way eight-lane passage connecting the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, further stimulating the economic development vitality of the Chengdu-Chongqing region and improving the road capacity and level between Chengdu and Chongqing.
