At the Huawei Analyst Conference held a few days ago, Xu Zhijun, Huawei's vice chairman and rotating chairman, revealed that the most critical thing for Huawei in 2024 is to build a HarmonyOS native application ecosystem.

At the same time, there is also new news about the Huawei Pura 70 series that has been officially launched on April 18, according to the Securities Times e company reporter interviewed by multiple parties, the Huawei Pura 70 series stock is relatively sufficient, so most of the offline channels can buy the Pura 70 series in stock, except for individual versions, and there is generally no need to increase the price.

On April 18, Huawei's official website published the full text of Xu Zhijun's speech at the Huawei Analyst Conference, which spoiled Huawei's most critical events in 2024.

Xu Zhijun said that the ecosystem is crucial to Huawei's industrial development, and Huawei has decided to make strong strategic investments in the development of the ecosystem in 2024 and the next five years, and to lead, promote, and drive the development of the terminal industry and the computing industry through the development of the ecosystem.

"The first is to build a HarmonyOS native application ecosystem, which is the most critical thing for Huawei in 2024. Xu Zhijun said that in the past, the HarmonyOS was more adaptable to various terminal devices in the south, but in the northbound applications, it still shared the Android application ecology, and Huawei hopes to use more than 99% of the 5000 applications on smartphones in the Chinese market in 2024 to fully migrate to the HarmonyOS native operating system, truly realizing the unity of the operating system and application ecology.

Xu Zhijun introduced that among the more than 5,000 applications, more than 4,000 applications have clarified the migration plan, and less than 1,000 applications are being communicated.

"This migration volume is huge, when we migrate these 5,000 applications and thousands of other applications from the Android ecosystem to the HarmonyOS system, our HarmonyOS is truly completed, and truly becomes the third mobile operating system in the world in addition to Apple iOS and Google Android. We first build a HarmonyOS operation application ecology based on the Chinese market, and promote it country by country in the future, and gradually promote it to the world. Xu Zhijun said.

HarmonyOS was released in August 2019, and from June 2021, HarmonyOS 2.0 was officially used in consumer terminals such as mobile phones, HarmonyOS 3.0 was launched in July 2022, and HarmonyOS 4.0 was launched in August 2023.

On January 18, 2024, Huawei announced that the developer preview of HarmonyOS NEXT is open for developers to apply, according to Huawei's plan, HarmonyOS NEXT is expected to release a developer beta version in the second quarter of 2024, and a consumer-oriented commercial version (native HarmonyOS Commercial) in the fourth quarter.

On April 18, Huawei's native HarmonyOS made new progress. On the same day, dozens of partners such as One Shenzhen, Zhixin, Bee Assistant, Express 100, Cloud Home, Kaisi, Caixun Co., Ltd., Kadis, Zhumang Partner, Yika, and Yirefueling signed contracts with Huawei to reach HarmonyOS cooperation, and at the same time, 11 partners, including Shenzhen Tong, Huohuotu, Southern Fund, Lanling KK, Miyi, Private Placement Network, Caretaker, Xiaohua Wallet, Gelonghui, Leyoujia, and China Merchants Cigna, announced the launch of HarmonyOS native application development, indicating that the HarmonyOS ecosystem is accelerating its penetration into all walks of life, and the native HarmonyOS ecosystem is also continuing to expand.

"We expect to be able to launch the Mate70 with a 'pureblood' HarmonyOS when it goes on sale this year, which is also the goal we are working towards. Xu Zhijun said bluntly.

Supply chains have changed completely

In addition, in terms of ecological construction, Xu Zhijun also said that he will focus on building the Kunpeng ecosystem and the Ascend ecosystem.

The Kunpeng ecosystem is Huawei's industrial ecosystem around Kunpeng chips, which are mainly used in general-purpose computing and server fields, while the Ascend ecosystem is Huawei's industrial ecosystem built around Ascend chips, which are mainly used in the field of artificial intelligence.

Xu Zhijun said that in 2019, Huawei open-sourced the general-purpose computing operating system openEuler, and then in 2020, it open-sourced the database openGauss. After several years of hard work, more than 75% of China's application software has been able to run on the Kunpeng processor, and after the next few years of efforts, it is expected to promote all the application software in China to run on both the X86 processor and the Kunpeng processor.

As for Ascend, Xu Zhijun said that building the Ascend ecosystem is the key to Huawei's AI development. Over the years, Huawei has been building the Ascend ecosystem around Ascend processors, CANN, and MindSpore, and has made great progress with the efforts of the entire industry.

Xu Zhijun also revealed that for all developers in the Kunpeng, Ascend, and HarmonyOS ecosystems, Huawei will build a unified developer platform based on HUAWEI CLOUD, giving developers a unified entrance and allowing developers to move freely across these three ecosystems.

It is worth mentioning that Xu Zhijun also mentioned in his speech that in 2024, Huawei will insist on winning by quality and achieving high-quality development, "No matter how the world changes, only high quality is the key to Huawei's sustainable future.

Unlike the Mate 60 series, the Pura 70 series is relatively more well stocked.

On the morning of April 18th, the Pura 70 series went on sale, and the person in charge of Huawei's experience store told the reporter of Securities Times e Company that intended users can buy spot when they arrive at the store on the same day, but due to the hot on-site sales, on-site pick-up may require a certain amount of queuing time, and some models may have insufficient supply, and they need to wait for a certain amount of time to pick up the goods after booking. Of course, each store has different sales hotties, and the queue situation is also different.

Up to now, a number of Huawei users have told reporters that they have bought the Huawei Pura 70 on April 18 and picked up the spot.

However, yesterday, Huawei's official website Pura 70 was sold out in less than a minute, and as of now, major e-commerce platforms show that Pura 70 Ultra and Pura 70 Pro have been sold out.

In this regard, insiders revealed to reporters that this may be due to Huawei's different policies for the online and offline channels of the Pura 70 series, "It is estimated that it will be more inclined to the offline, because there is a fan attraction effect offline, and Huawei needs to support the development of Huawei's distribution system."

According to reports, a source familiar with the channel revealed to the media: "According to our research, the channel stock of Huawei Pura 70 series mobile phones is more than that of the Mate 60 series, and the total channel stock has reached 14 million to 15 million units." ”

Huawei Pura 70 series includes Pura 70 Standard Edition, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro+, and Pura 70 Ultra four models, with retail prices starting at 5499 yuan, 6499 yuan, 7999 yuan, and 9999 yuan respectively.

Different from other models, the camera module of the Pura 70 series adopts a triangular camera island design, while the Ultra version is equipped with a 1-inch sensor and a rotating telescopic lens, which is also the first time that Huawei has tried to retract the lens on a mobile phone, achieving functional differentiation and a leap in product strength. In addition, both the Ultra and Pro versions support high-speed flash shooting and a further upgraded macro telephoto.
