The Japanese army carried out repeated searches and encirclement and suppression of Pingyang Village and its surrounding villages and ravines, and used extremely cruel methods to brutalize innocent people and commit incalculable crimes.
On the 22nd day of the eighth lunar month, the Japanese army swept Nanshan in Binh Duong, and 32 villagers were found in the ravine and driven back to the village threshing floor by the Japanese army. The Japanese forced the villagers to strip and twist Yangge in the square, and the resisting villagers were stabbed to death by the Japanese soldiers.
In the early morning of the 24th, the Japanese army carried out a second search of the mountain, surrounded the 20-mile-long Lutuo Mountain, and killed Bai Guoxian, the director of the peasant association, and his eldest son Bai Dianlai.
The village swept by the Japanese army, in the face of the brutal and ruthless Japanese devils, 64-year-old villager Yang Zhenning died unyieldingly. When Yang Zhen was forced to climb the steep ridge, his wife, granddaughter, and daughter-in-law were brutally murdered by the Japanese army.
Yang Zhen angrily scolded the Japanese army for being shameless, and the Japanese soldier became angry and ended his life with a bayonet. The granddaughter Zhang Xiaoduo hugged her grandmother's head and cried loudly, and the devil threw her down the mountain and fell to her death.
The Japanese army still didn't understand their hatred and smashed Zhao's head. Cho Hee-young and other women were taken back to the base by the Japanese army to serve as comfort women, and some disobedient people were killed instantly. After Zhang Weisheng's wife and brother were ruined by several devils in turn, they were brutally disemboweled, and the five-month-old fetus also died tragically.
The tragic encounter of the mother and daughter was surrounded by Japanese soldiers in Yangshugou Village, and an old mother in her 60s was brutally pulled to the entrance of the village by devils and slashed with a bayonet. The old man's screams continued, and before he could get out of breath, he was thrown into the fire and burned to death by the devil.
Another 20-year-old villager, Bai Diange's wife, the devil cut her belly. The ignorant toddler crawled on his mother's body to find milk to eat, and the devil clapped and laughed when he saw this scene.
The poor child did not escape the poisonous hands of the devils. After the sheep herding baby Han Xiaogen was caught by the devil, he forced him to ask him about the whereabouts of the Eighth Route Army. Han Xiao was even more loyal and unyielding, and when the devil raised his knife to cut him, he turned around and jumped sensitively, picked up the stone and smashed the devil to death.
Other devils pounced, and Han Xiao was stabbed to death dozens of times.
The brutality of the Japanese army was outrageous. They wantonly burned down village houses, abducted innocent people, committed atrocities against the elderly and young people, and even suffocated and drowned people alive.
In September, the Japanese army repeatedly swept the old villages, Beishuiyu, Shanzuitou and other villages, and the villagers were forced to flee into the mountains, but the Japanese troops did not stop, they went to the mountains in three ways to search for the villagers, brutally stabbed 8 people to death on the spot with bayonets, and the rest of the villagers were taken back to the stronghold to be killed.
Such atrocities are deplorable and we must resolutely oppose them and uphold the dignity and rights of human beings.
In war, innocent civilians are often the victims. According to survivor Zhao Youhai, the Japanese army found 25 women during a search of the cave and pressed them about the whereabouts of the Eighth Route Army, but to no avail.
The devil brutally cut off the head of Zhang Dasu, a 16-year-old girl, and the body fell to the ground and was still struggling and squirming. The devil washed the head and put it back on the table, and the old mother cried bitterly when she saw the child's tragic death.
The devil threw the head into the arms of Zhang Dasu's mother, and the other devil pointed a bayonet at her chest and said viciously: "Don't cry, laugh quickly! Laugh loudly!"
The old man hugged his daughter's head and cried hoarsely, cursing and cursing the devil soldiers in his mouth. The devil raised his bayonet and stabbed his mother to the ground more than a dozen times.
When the old mother was stabbed to death, she was still holding her daughter's head tightly in her hands.
The Japanese army was brutal and inhumane. In the Liushuiyu Cave in Pingyang's Xigou, the Japanese army tortured and killed the guerrilla Zhang Jianlan. Villager Zhang Fuyu was hung on a pear tree by a devil and beaten more than 200 sticks, and his meat was beaten to rot piece by piece, and finally he was stabbed to death.
Fourteen old and weak women and children were driven into an earthen cave by the devils, and the villagers resolutely refused to enter the hole, and the devils cut off his head with a knife and threw it into the earthen hole, and set the earthen hole on fire. The fire destroyed the earth cave, and the villagers were buried in the hole, and an old man dragged his grandson into the cave by the Japanese army, and he was still holding his grandson tightly when he was killed.
- Zhao Youhai recalled that in Beishuiyu, the Japanese soldiers grabbed a young man, tied him to a steep slope, threw him down the mountain repeatedly, and finally fell to his death, and his body was discarded in the ravine.
A villager surnamed Meng was caught by the Japanese army and used a wolf dog to bite off his flesh, and the Japanese army took pleasure in it.
Zhao Youhai recalled that Liu Yaomei, director of the Women's Federation of Luoyu Village, died heroically in the sweep, and her heroic deeds were shocking: after the Japanese army captured Liu Yaomei, she resolutely resisted and would rather die than give in.
The devil tortured her, cut off the flesh from her legs, burned her on the fire, picked it up for everyone to see, and then stuffed it into her mouth and forced her to eat. The Japanese could not get her to submit and brutally cut off her head.
The devil also forced more than 20 women to strip naked and surround a coffin, put a pregnant woman in the coffin, and then used a knife to peel off the flesh of the pregnant woman layer by layer, picking out the fetus in the womb, and blood flowed all over the bottom of the coffin.
More than 20 women were too frightened to look at it, and the devil shouted frantically: "If any of you dare to go home, this is the end!" Liu Yaomei's heroic sacrifice makes us remember this history forever.
During the search, the Japanese found a young man of about 20 years old, and the Japanese soldiers tried to catch him, but the young man struggled to break free and fell down the Japanese soldiers. When the other Japanese soldiers heard the commotion, they rushed over, knocked the young man to the ground, and stripped him naked.
They tied him to the bottom with ropes, dragged him to the village, and stabbed him to death with large awls. The Japanese soldiers found a woman holding a child on the mountain, and the Japanese soldiers forced her to throw the child down the cliff, and after the woman threw the child, she was kicked off the cliff by the Japanese soldiers and fell to her death in the mountain stream.
After the 16-year-old girl Xiaomei was caught by the devil, she was humiliated all night, and her body and mind were greatly damaged, and finally she died of mental disorder.
On December 9, the day before the evacuation, the Japanese soldiers dragged more than 60 women to the threshing floor. The Japanese soldier Cao asked them: "Are you willing to go along, or are you willing to go home?"
The women replied that they wanted to go home, but the Japanese stripped them of their clothes and cut off their heads with knives. The Japanese army's clean-up campaign lasted 87 days, and the village of Binh Duong was already littered with corpses.
There are five killing fields inside and outside the village, and corpses are everywhere, the yellow earth has turned purple and black, the streets are covered with rotting human skin and broken bones, and the crops outside the village are stained with blood and flesh.
There were 12 corpses on the riverbank, more than 20 women with their heads cut off and their heads rolling to the ground in the small courtyard, 13 yam cellars in the village were filled with dead people, 36 bodies were piled up on the threshing floor in the east of the village, more than 300 bodies of young men and women were piled up in Pingyang Street, in ravines, wells and in ruins...... The tragic situation is unbearable to look at.
According to statistics, Binh Duong village and its surroundings suffered serious damage after the sweep. The Japanese killed 752 people, and 832 were refugees. In addition, more than 50 houses were burned.
These figures are only preliminary statistics, and the bodies of many people who have been killed cannot be found, and their whereabouts are unknown. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the village of Binh Duong was desolate, with people dying and crying in every household.
In order to commemorate the compatriots who were killed, Binh Duong built a tomb of 1,000 people and erected a monument to record the incident. The inscription describes the crimes of the Arai forces, who were brutal and murdered more than 700 people, including pregnant women and children.
The atrocities of the Japanese army are heinous and unspeakable. Survivor Zhao Youhai can't help but cry every time he recalls the Pingyang tragedy, he said: "There has never been an army as cruel as the Japanese army, they are real beasts."
