On April 18, 2024, 4 volunteers from Hanbin District, Ankang, Shaanxi Province, under the arrangement of the person in charge of Peixin Community, came to the New Era Civilization Practice Station of Peixin Community in the Old Town Office of Hanbin District, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, to carry out the condolence service activity of "Curtain Action" to care for the elderly.
The "Curtain Campaign" has been running for more than a year. With summer approaching, in order to allow 90-year-old Cheng Dinglian to spend a comfortable and cool summer, last week the community leader arranged for volunteers to scrub the air conditioner and clean up for her when the weather is fine.
In the afternoon, the volunteers came to the home of the elderly in Room 401, Unit 1, Family Courtyard, No. 25 Zhongying Lane, and immediately took action to scrub the air conditioner first. The volunteers found a stool, set up a small wooden stool on a large square stool, stood on it and observed it carefully, found the entry point, opened the air conditioner cover, took out the filter, cleaned the filter with a brush, and then dried it. The old man was very happy and relieved to watch the volunteers carefully and carefully wipe the surface and interior of the air conditioner. After the volunteers finished wiping, they put the filter back on, covered the lid and turned on the electricity, and let the elderly try it out, and only after confirming that it can be used normally, the volunteers were relieved.
Then, the volunteers patiently and thoroughly cleaned the bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom, cleaning every corner and placing the items neatly. The old man saw it in his eyes and was happy in his heart.
Finally, volunteers sat down to chat with the elderly. "Thanks to the party, thanks to the care of the leaders of the Peixin community, so that I don't have to worry about eating, no one has to buy food, the government will send it to the home during the New Year's holidays, and there are volunteers to provide door-to-door service at home, which is really heartwarming!" said the old man happily.
Volunteering is the aspiration of the people.
