Recently, the Russian and Ukrainian armies are engaged in a major war around Chasov Yar, among which the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Army has been "conditioned" by its own people here.
The 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade is no stranger to Chasov Yar, after all, during the Battle of Artemsk a year ago, Chaseong was the last base for Ukrainian troops to enter the war zone.
At that time, the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade had killed too many backbones of the Dongwu period in the direction of Acheng, so they still remembered the battle here.
Now the firepower of the Russian army is even more fierce than at the beginning, especially the use of gliding guided bombs has been strengthened, and the battle losses of the Ukrainian army will be even more serious.
Therefore, the backbone of the "right area" of the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade used a very comical wave of operations:
They sent additional conscripts and subordinate units that had nothing to do with the far right to the front line, while their own backbone squatted in the rear to avoid heavy casualties.
Moreover, these far-right veterans also ridiculed the mobilization of new recruits as "pixels", these soldiers without sufficient training and combat experience were placed on the front line as cannon fodder, and were quickly defeated by the Russian army because of their lack of combat effectiveness, so they lost key positions.
Due to the easy departure of the defenders of this division, the commandos of the 98th Airborne Division of the Russian Army drove directly from their field positions to the east of the "Canal Microzone" and occupied the first buildings of the settlement, thus gaining a firm foothold.
And because the breakthrough of the Russian army in this direction threatened the positions of the Ukrainian army in the village of Bodanivka on the north side, but part of the Ukrainian army defending here was annihilated, and the other part was forced to abandon its positions and lose most of the village.
This made the Russian army approach the canal line where Chasov Yar was located on all fronts, which had an extremely bad impact on the Ukrainian army in the Battle of Chasov.
The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Syrsky, caught up with the defeat of Avadiivka after taking office, when the Ukrainian army in the city was defeated by the army, most of the friendly troops outside the city watched from the sidelines, so Xishuai issued a strict order, making it clear that if the command of which unit could not be commanded, don't blame him for being ruthless.
Syrsky was also very angry about the unauthorized departure of the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, as well as a series of problems of internal bullying and consumption of recruits.
At the same time, because these far-right elements also have a potential political risk to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Zesheng also resolutely supports the purge of these people.
Syrsky's initial measures should have been relatively "soft", but as mentioned earlier, the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade has always been a fairly independent unit, and these far-right elements are not even friendly to the Ukrainian president, so they can naturally ignore Syrsky's tone and propaganda.
Since he had done things to such an extent, Syrsky, who had always had a tough style, decided to completely tear his face and do everything to the end.
Originally, it may have been just a matter of changing the brigade commander and internal rectification, but now Syrsky decided to completely break up and divert the far-right commanders and backbones of the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade to other units.
The official statement of the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade said that in response to the order of the headquarters of the Ukrainian army, the department made a series of attempts, but in the end failed.
Some far-rightists believe that the diversion operation of the Ukrainian army headquarters is a measure that led to the destruction of the Ukrainian volunteer system.
And Syrsky's knife is not just a diversion of personnel, there are currently many teams in the 67th Brigade to review the soldiers who have been defending Ukraine since the beginning of the war, and to investigate the brigade commander, which does not rule out the possibility of criminal prosecution against those accused of non-compliance with orders.
The officers and men of the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade (referring to the far-right backbone, of course) are ready to defend their honor, freedom and dignity in a "legal" manner.
However, Syrsky is probably taking the 67th Brigade as a model, saying:
The main task of these measures is to increase the combat effectiveness of our troops, save the lives of our soldiers, disrupt the enemy's plans, and ensure the readiness of the reserves;
And the Ukrainian Army also stated:
The ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are constantly working to improve the existing organizational structure, to change the number of related military organizational structures, including their reform.
This also applies to the combat brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
When carrying out such work, taking into account the results of combat missions, the analysis of the actions taken, aimed at increasing the stability of the defense.
The operation to split and reorganize the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade is underway with the aim of strengthening the overall combat readiness and effectiveness of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Therefore, the rectification of the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade by the headquarters of the Ukrainian army will not stop because of the dissatisfaction of the ultra-right-wing backbone of the brigade, and it is precisely these people who are more dissatisfied that the adjustment will come more resolutely.
Moreover, the defeat of the 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade on the Chasov Yar front and the deliberate attrition of mobilized recruits may not be the fundamental reason for Syrsky's use of the knife, the core factor is that Shuai was originally going to rectify these special units with strong political attributes and operational independence.
A veteran who served in the Ukrainian Volunteer Army said in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda that the root of the problem is the inability to reorganize former volunteer units into regular brigades of the Ukrainian army.
According to the regulations of the Ukrainian army, after receiving the reorganization, the 67th brigade was supposed to operate according to the guidelines of the regular army, but in fact during the period when Zaluzhny was the commander-in-chief, the brigade had autonomy, and its commanders lacked experience in commanding the regular army.
When Syrsky became commander-in-chief, a major move was to promote the regularization of all units of the Ukrainian army, especially for such politically conscious, potentially dissident, and independent troops, which were originally meant to be opened, and the defeat and abuse of recruits at the front were just the beginning and fuse of the knife.
