Cryogenic adsorption pump system for SIS100

author:Chen talks about clean energy

This article briefly describes the development and production of a special cryogenic adsorption pump system consisting of 85 pump assemblies that will be used in the cryogenic beam vacuum system of the heavy ion synchrotron SIS100 of the GSI FAIR project. In this publication, we present the results of our development and look forward to further applications. This article describes the steps required to achieve the high quality requirements of this particular application. Among them, the parameters leak rate, pressure loss, volumetric flow rate, quality of the required activated carbon pellets and pumping speed are the most important interests. Compiled by Chen Jiaoyun

Our development was able to meet the technical requirements of the cryogenic adsorption pump system of the heavy ion synchrotron SIS100 of the FAIR project. A large number of tests have been carried out, including parameters leak rate, pressure loss, volume flow, number of activated carbon particles separated, and pumping speed. Depending on the requirements, the geometry and quantity of cryogenic benzene hydrocarbons can be adjusted to ensure other applications in cryothermics.
