The fourth phase of Kangying Homes in Sunhe Township, Chaoyang District, consists of five resettlement communities, where tens of thousands of people live. Recently, some citizens reported to this station that residents have lived in the community for more than 2 years, but there is only a special 201 bus line in the morning and evening rush hours, which has caused great inconvenience to residents. Why are there no regular buses in large residential areas, and how can residents' travel problems be solved?

The fourth phase of Kangying Home, which actually has a population of more than 15,000 people, was surprisingly quiet when the reporter arrived at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, not a single bus passed by, and not many residents were moving downstairs. I finally met a resident, Mr. Zhang, and when he talked about the reason for the quietness around him, he smiled wryly.

Mr. Zhang: I am over 70 years old this year, and I have moved all the people from our five villages back, but it is very inconvenient now, especially the elderly, who are the majority here.

Mr. Zhang: It's all at home! I can't go far away, my eyes are dizzy, and my children are not at ease, and there are no buses in the southeast, northwest, and northwest.

Located on the west side of Jingping Expressway outside the North Fifth Ring Road in Chaoyang District, Kangying Home Phase IV is a resettlement housing project developed on the renovated land of Qianweigou shantytown in Sunhe Township, including a total of 5 communities, and residents moved back to move in on April 16, 2022. The nearest subway station of Line 15 is about 2-3 kilometers away from the community, so the bus passing through the doorstep has become a more urgent need. But there is only a bus line of 201 here, this bus starts from Sunhe Bus Station, passes through Maquanying Metro Station of Line 15, and ends at Mananli Station, the whole journey is 11.5 kilometers, and nearly 100 trains depart every day. The reporter noticed that the line from Sunhe only operates from 5:00-8:30 in the morning and 17:00-21:30 in the afternoon, and the reverse direction only operates between 5:30-9:00 in the morning and 17:30-22:00 in the afternoon, which also means that there are no buses passing through the community for 8 hours from 9 am to 5 pm. Mr. Kim, a resident, said:

Mr. Jin, a resident: I've been living here for two years now, and the traffic is not convenient, I don't have a car at noon, and I usually can't go out at noon, so I have to take a taxi or ride a bicycle if I want to go out. The subway station is farther away from us, and we don't have to walk for half an hour! Now these people who go to work are usually young people, and they usually do Didi. The old man is old, he can't use the mobile phone, he can't play generally, people have children and cars to pull out or something, it's really inconvenient, and the children are very busy at work.

Not only is it difficult for the elderly to travel on weekdays, but it is also inconvenient for young people to go out after a lazy nap on the weekend. Xiao Wang, who lives nearby, said:

Resident Xiao Wang: I work in Wangjing, and basically I just carpool because it's a little closer. But if I want to go out to play, I may take the subway, the subway station is a certain distance from here, if I go out at noon or in the afternoon, there is no bus, just take a taxi to the subway station.

Most residents are unclear about the specific reasons for the delay in the regular public transportation of this large residential area in the fourth phase of Kangying Homes. Some of the speculations in the interview were that the surrounding roads were not perfect, and some suspected that there was nowhere to set up a bus stop. What is the actual reason? The reporter also consulted the Beijing Public Transport Group, and the staff of the Keqi Branch said:

Regarding the bus station raised by the bus group, the staff of Sunhe Township, Chaoyang District, said that because the bus station covers a large area and involves changing the original planning and handling approval procedures, Sunhe Township has coordinated with relevant departments at the district level for many times, and this work is currently being closely promoted.

Sunhe Township Staff: At present, the coordination is that there is a 405 station in the original Sunhe, which can be used to park buses in the future. At present, the bus station is improving some hydropower infrastructure at the 405 station, and we have contacted the district water affairs bureau to coordinate the connection of water pipes to solve the problem of water use, and at the same time coordinated the Chaoyang power supply company to connect to the transformer to solve the problem of electricity consumption. At present, the 405 station is carrying out some work related to the improvement of infrastructure, and we will also meet the parking of our buses as soon as possible.
