However, during his military career, he did not have a good relationship with an old partner, and how did this person develop later?
Chen Geng is a military chief and has experienced many political commissar partners. After the outbreak of the all-out Anti-Japanese War, Chen Geng served as the commander of the 386th Brigade of the Eighth Route Army, and the political commissar was Wang Xinting. Wang Xinting and Chen Geng are very compatible, and their personal relationship is also very harmonious, Chen Geng nicknamed Wang Xinting "blind" because Wang Political Commissar's eyes are highly short-sighted, and Wang Xinting is not ambiguous, calling Chen Geng "lame" because Chen Geng's leg is injured. Men can usually "lose each other" like this, and the relationship is good. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, although Wang Xinting was rated as a general, one level lower than Chen Geng, his status in the army was still very high.
Comrade Bo Yibo also partnered with Chen Geng. After the establishment of the Taiyue Column of the Eighth Route Army, Chen Geng and Bo Yibo were military and political partners, and the personal relationship between the two was also very good. Some friends may mention an episode: When the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in 1945, Chen Geng made a suggestion to Chairman Mao, saying that Bo Yibo was still young and it might not be appropriate to be elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee. Chen Geng unfortunately died early after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Bo Yibo was extremely sad, and he still felt sorry until his later years, and wrote the article "Taiyue Deeply Remembers Chen Geng" to commemorate the exploits of this old partner. But if you don't talk about military merits, only in terms of party and government status, Bo Yibo was higher than Chen Geng in the later part of his career, and he was promoted to a deputy state-level leader. The political work cadres who really have a bad relationship with Chen Geng may be somewhat unexpected, and they are the "Xie" in the "Chen Xie Army", that is, the political commissar Xie Fuzhi. Xie Fuzhi served as the political commissar of the Taiyue Column and the political commissar of the 4th Column of the Nakano. The troops led by "Chen Xie" have achieved outstanding combat results, and have even been directly transferred by the Central Military Commission on many occasions, and have the nature of a strategic force. The people's army attaches great importance to political work, and for a period of time grasped the "origin" of cadres, Chen Geng's family was not a poor hired peasant, and he was arrested for some reason, so he was affected to a certain extent. Chen Geng hoped that the political commissar would stand up and express his position in order to set the record straight, but I don't know what Xie Fuzhi had for what considerations, so he has always refused to do so. Later, Chairman Mao made a speech to prove Chen Geng's reputation. Such a thing undoubtedly hurts the feelings of comrades-in-arms very much.
Later, Xie Fuzhi no longer partnered with Chen Geng and was transferred to other units: the 4th Corps of Erye was established, Chen Geng "shouldered the military and politics", and Xie Fuzhi was reappointed as the political commissar of the 3rd Corps of the brother army. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Xie Fuzhi received the rank of general, and in the 60s of the last century, he also became the vice premier of the State Council, but died of cancer in 1972. Eight years later, he was held accountable for some mistakes he made during his lifetime, and was eventually expelled from the party.
