The People's Bank of China will start exchanging ordinary commemorative coins and banknotes for the 2024 Chinese New Year from April 18 (this Thursday). At present, Jiangsu, Guizhou, Hubei and other places have issued announcements related to the exchange of balances, which will officially start at 22 o'clock on April 18.
The second reservation will open on the 18th
According to the announcements of the branches of the central bank, the reservation period for the balance of the 2024 Chinese New Year currency is from 22:00 on April 18 to 24:00 on the 19th, and the reservation period for the balance of the 2024 Chinese New Year banknote is from 22:30 on April 18 to 24:00 on the 19th. The 2024 Chinese New Year commemorative coins and banknote balance will all be reserved online.
The exchange period for the 2024 Chinese New Year coins and banknote balance is from April 20 to 24. According to the arrangement, two people can be represented per person. The 2024 Chinese New Year coins are limited to 20 pieces per person, and the 2024 Chinese New Year banknotes are limited to 10 pieces. The public can go to the agreed bank branch to handle the exchange business at the agreed time with the original second-generation resident ID card registered in the reservation system. Each person can collect the ID card on behalf of two people, and the original second-generation resident ID card of the representative and the person to be collected must be provided when collecting on behalf of the person.
If the original second-generation resident identity card cannot be issued due to the loss of the original second-generation resident identity card, or the minor has not applied for the second-generation resident identity card, etc., the household registration booklet or temporary resident identity card can be used for exchange.
The balance exchange announcement issued by many places mentioned that the balance exchange is the first exchange of the remaining part, and there may be situations such as the non-continuous number of the commemorative banknote and the non-formation of the commemorative coin.

【Shenzhen】
The remaining amount of the 2024 Lunar New Year commemorative coins in Shenzhen is 70,597 pieces (including 9,428 pieces that failed to pass the verification for the first issuance), and the remaining part of the 2024 Chinese New Year commemorative banknotes is 19,713 pieces (including 4,664 pieces that failed to pass the verification for the first issue).

The balance of Guizhou Province's 2024 Chinese New Year coins and Chinese New Year banknotes are the remaining parts of the previous scheduled exchange and issuance, with 101243 and 42,146 pieces respectively.
【Yunnan】
