Sun Boxiang (October 4, 1934 - April 16, 2024), born in Wuqing County, Tianjin, is the master of Wei Zhai. He used to be a director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a member of the Creation Review Committee of the China Calligraphy Association, a professor of the China Calligraphy Institute, a member of the Tianjin Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and a vice chairman of the Tianjin Calligraphy Association. He has won the 11th Plastic Arts Achievement Award of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 5th China Calligraphy Pavilion Award.

Sun Boxiang has been learning since he was a child, and he never quits. He was guided by Wang Xuezhong and Sun Qifeng. Advocating stele learning, devoting himself to the northern school, and involving the subordinate, seal, line, grass, calligraphy as strong and ancient, scattered and gathered, the temperament is extraordinary. He has published "Sun Boxiang Calligraphy Collection" and so on.

Sun Boxiang's works have been selected for the second, third and fourth national calligraphy and seal carving exhibitions, the first and second national young and middle-aged calligraphy and seal carving exhibitions, Sino-Japanese calligraphy exchange exhibitions, China-Singapore calligraphy joint exhibitions, etc., and have been included in a variety of special collections of works or collected by many art galleries and museums. He once lectured on "Calligraphy Teaching" (Beibei Part) for the Central Radio and Television University, and won the National Audio-visual Education Award. Co-published the book "The Art of Calligraphy". He has won the "Lu Xun Literature Award" in Tianjin.

On March 19, 2014, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles held the 11th Plastic Performing Arts Achievement Award Ceremony in Beijing, and Sun Boxiang won the Plastic Arts Award. In November 2023, Sun Boxiang's 90 calligraphy and painting exhibition will be held in Tianjin. This exhibition covers ancient poems, ancient classics, etc., and displays more than 90 pieces of fine paintings and calligraphy, all of which are new works by Mr. Sun Boxiang in recent years.
