In order to implement the national policy of encouraging childbirth and meet the needs of the aging population, the Medical Imaging Department of Hunan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has recently carried out an MR pelvic floor functional imaging examination project to provide an objective and accurate diagnosis basis for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction such as stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse in clinical women.
Through accurate assessment and early intervention, the efficacy of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction can be greatly improved and the quality of life of patients can be improved.
1. What is pelvic floor dysfunction?
Stress urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, defecation dysfunction, etc., also known as pelvic floor dysfunction diseases, are mainly caused by damage to pelvic floor muscles, ligaments, fascia and other supporting structures, including urinary incontinence and urinary emptying disorders, fecal incontinence and defecation disorders, sexual dysfunction, vulvodynia, dyspepsia and pelvic organ prolapse.

After hysterectomy, the patient leaks urine involuntarily. A. No obvious abnormalities in the resting state; B. Severe bladder prolapse (Valsalva maneuver) with bladder neck descent, urethral hypermobility; C. Left puborectalis muscle injury and degeneration.
The latest introduction of Siemens ultra-high-end 3.0T nuclear magnetic resonance (MRI) from Hunan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has greatly improved the soft tissue resolution and scanning speed, which can clearly display the anatomy of various organs and pelvic floor muscles in the pelvis, accurately judge the injury of the levator ani muscle, and combine dynamic imaging technology to evaluate the abnormalities of each chamber of the pelvic floor in a non-invasive, real-time and accurate "one-stop" manner. In particular, it is helpful for the diagnosis of pelvic floor organ prolapse in clinical practice, and has great "visual" guiding significance in the formulation of surgical methods and postoperative evaluation.
