Empowering "brain power" with "computing power" and "visible" digital twin cities

A bright smart business card(1)

Unmanned vehicles travel through the city, and the roadside multi-functional information poles will transmit all kinds of traffic information to the vehicles in real time; sitting in the office, the building automatic control system adjusts the indoor temperature and lighting in real time; and the elderly living alone "cloud guard" ...... In Xiong'an, the "City Brain" helps the digital city and the real city to "twin and co-build". The "intangible" digital twin is gradually showing the value of "visible" data.

Digital Twins Make Cities Smarter

In the seven years since the establishment of Xiong'an New Area, in addition to the above-ground city and underground city under construction in reality, there is also a digital city on the cloud that grows together. Today, the construction of "one center and four platforms" of Xiong'an City Computing Center, Integrated Data Platform, Xiong'an City Information Model Platform, Internet of Things Platform and Video One Network Platform has begun to take shape, and "one city on the cloud" has been initially built.

"A city on the cloud" is a digital twin city. This city is a digital city that uses cloud computing, big data, 5G, artificial intelligence and other technologies to map the physical city of Xiong'an. The physical city and the digital city complement each other to help the planning, construction and operation of Xiong'an city. This "cloud city" needs powerful computing power to process massive data per second, including community governance, public services, and urban management, and its most important "brain" is deployed in the Xiong'an Urban Computing Center.

Yao Kaixuan, assistant general manager of China Xiongan Group Digital City Technology Co., Ltd., participated in and witnessed the construction and growth of digital twin cities. After coming to Xiong'an New Area in 2017, he successively participated in the informatization construction of Xiong'an Citizen Service Center and Xiong'an Urban Computing Center, and built the city's smart "base" step by step. In his opinion, in the seven years since the establishment of the new district, the concept of digital twin city has gradually changed.

"The purpose of digital twin city construction is to serve urban governance and people's lives. Yao Kaixuan said that in the early stage of urban construction, the construction of digital twin cities focused on "moving" visible buildings to invisible "clouds" and opening up data silos. Now, the digital "computing power" gradually gathered on the "cloud" side has begun to feed back to urban operations and serve urban management.

Through the perception and simulation of the real city, the digital twin city realizes the "virtual" of the city, and the analysis and scheduling of the "virtual" city can optimize the operation of the city. Based on the strong "computing power" and massive data support, the introduction of automatic control, artificial intelligence and other technical applications, the construction of digital twin cities brings infinite imagination space for urban refinement, precision, and automatic perception and management. Yao Kaixuan introduced that through big data and cloud computing means to gather all kinds of information, so that data can run more and the masses run less errands, which can not only better serve residents, but also improve the level of urban management.

The "Internet of Everything" is gradually becoming a reality

In Xiong'an, you can see such a "smart picture": the recipient makes an appointment for unmanned delivery vehicles to deliver express delivery through the mobile app, the water, electricity and gas bills are paid through a unified online platform without downloading multiple apps, and the mobile phone "Zhengtong Xiong'an" App can realize the online approval of business start-up, engineering construction, social affairs and other businesses...... Relying on powerful digital computing power, the Internet of Things is serving thousands of industries, and the vision of "Internet of Everything" is gradually becoming a reality.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China has formed 4 100 million-level applications such as the Internet of Vehicles, public services, retail services, and smart homes in the integrated application of mobile Internet of Things, and 3 10-million-level applications such as smart agriculture, intelligent manufacturing, and smart logistics, which strongly support production and life.

As the front-end of information collection, the Internet of Things is changing thousands of industries by stringing together technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. In life, the application of the Internet of Things can also be seen everywhere. At the rookie station, the user finds the package, scans the code on the high-definition camera, and can take the package directly. Behind the convenience and efficiency, the Internet of Things equipment and the post station parcel management system, cloud monitoring system and other data are connected.

Data can tie two seemingly unrelated things together.

What kind of intersection can there be between water meter data and home care services?"The 'multi-meter centralized reading system' based on the unified open platform of the Internet of Things in Xiong'an New Area can be used for data analysis, such as judging whether the elderly have an accident at home through the water consumption displayed by the water meter over a period of time, and feeding back the data to the community staff for door-to-door service. Yao Kaixuan gave an example.

data, to be able to connect two cities.

A few days ago, Liu Li, who works in Xiong'an New Area, went to Beijing to do business. At the entrance of Xitucheng Station on the Changping Line of the Beijing Metro, she used the "Xiong'an All-in-One Card" to enter the station and get on the train, and arrived at her destination Changping Station 50 minutes later. "I took a total of 15 stops and spent 7 yuan, which is the same price as the Beijing municipal transportation card. Liu Li said.

The "Xiong'an All-in-One Card" in her hand is a "multi-card integration" comprehensive livelihood card issued by the Public Service Bureau of Xiong'an New Area, which is loaded with functions such as transportation union and Jingxiongtong application on the basis of the original social security function and financial function of the third-generation social security card. The opening of data has promoted Beijing and Xiongxiong to enter the era of "same city".

Data support accelerates the implementation of applications

On April 9, Jia Zhuo, the digital road project manager of China Xiongan Group Digital City Technology Co., Ltd., rushed to the intersection of Haodan Street and Zhiyuan North Road in Rongxi District to check the operation of the smart mailbox equipment at the intersection with the staff responsible for digital road operation and maintenance. In the green belt of the intersection, switches, video terminal equipment, signal collectors and other equipment are installed in the small smart mailbox, which are connected to the smart light poles and traffic lights in the four directions of the intersection at one end through underground cables and optical cables, and the other end is connected to the data control platform. "There are a total of 180 intersections in the Rongxi area, and the installation and commissioning of information control and video surveillance equipment at 154 intersections has been completed. Jia Zhuo introduced that the currently installed equipment has entered the state of joint commissioning.

"Xiong'an New Area is the first area in the country to be planned and constructed in accordance with the direction of future intelligent transportation. The main goal of digital road construction is to empower traffic management, road transport, and residents' mobility by digitizing roads and transportation. A staff member of the Office of the Leading Group for the Construction of Digital Cities in Xiong'an New Area introduced.

Relying on strong digital computing power, Xiong'an New Area has also built a road to protect students. "The traditional route of nursing is delineated by the public security traffic police department, and it relies on the traffic police to guard. Intelligent equipment is installed on the multi-functional information pole in Rongdong area, which can capture the figure of children going to school in real time, and transmit the children's travel routes and pictures to parents' mobile phones in real time. The above-mentioned staff introduced. Up to now, the digital road in the Rongdong area of Xiong'an New Area has been put into operation, and the construction of the Rongxi area, Xiongdong area and start-up area is being promoted, and it is expected to be completed and delivered from this year. In the future, more new scenarios derived from digital road construction will be accelerated.

Unconsciously, digital twin technology has quietly entered the production and life of Xiong'an residents, playing an important role in urban management and services.

In the smart traffic scenario, white multi-functional information poles on both sides of the road in Rongdong area can be seen everywhere, and traffic lights, millimeter-wave radar, lidar, gun ball all-in-one machine, 5G base station and other equipment are integrated on the poles, which collect and aggregate road information in real time around the clock, and upload it to the digital road intelligent operation center system platform for analysis and application by background staff. With the support of digital technology, "no traffic jams" and "green lights all the way" are becoming a reality. At the same time, all kinds of traffic information can also be sent to the vehicle equipped with the on-board receiving unit in real time, so as to realize the intelligent interconnection between the road and the vehicle.

In smart city scenarios, the "multi-meter centralized reading system" remotely reads water meters, gas meters, heat meters and other meters in residents' homes through the Internet of Things. The platform's data analysis system can also monitor users' water, gas and heat consumption in real time, providing users with more diversified services. For example, the occupancy rate of residential buildings can be analyzed through water, gas and heat data, and the data can be combined with the flexible public transportation in Xiong'an New Area to optimize bus stops and route settings.

With digital "computing power" to enhance the city's "brain power", more and more smart application scenarios are accelerating the implementation in Xiong'an, and the appearance of a "city of the future" is becoming clearer.
