The record-breaking first car, the Owl, from Japan's Aspark depot, is about to go up for online auction, giving enthusiasts and collectors one of the most compelling electric Hypercars on the market. It's been about seven years since Owl was revealed to the world. Aspark, the Japanese automaker, announced plans to produce 50 Owls for its customers, and last year confirmed that development work had been completed and deliveries would begin soon.
While the exact number of deliveries remains unclear, potential buyers who place orders now will face a waiting time of at least a year for delivery. Or, they can bid on this Owl and take ownership of it immediately. The electric Hypercar is already listed for sale via SBX, courtesy of Supercar Blondie. There is little news about this particular Owl other than a minor cosmetic flaw. Also, there is no mention of how many miles it has been traveling.
The Owl is powered by four electric motors that deliver a total of 1,985 hp and 204 kgm of torque. The four electric motors get their power from a 64 kWh battery pack. The Owl can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in just 1.7 seconds and claims a top speed of 400 km/h.
Considering that the Owl comes from a startup, it looks relatively well-made, and the configuration inside the car is surprising. There are carbon fibre racing seats in black and yellow leather, and it also comes with Sparco racing seat belts, as well as plenty of carbon fibre, a digital instrument cluster, digital mirrors, and a central multimedia infotainment display. The online auction will start tomorrow, April 18, where you can place your bids.
