In 2023, Gaojing Town, Baoshan District, is committed to transforming every practical matter of people's livelihood into a real sense of gain, happiness and security. We know that making residents the backbone of community governance, and that their voices are heard and respected, is the key to achieving this goal. To this end, we have carried out a wide range of "Community People's Projects" check-off activities throughout the town, allowing residents to choose the projects they care about and need the most.
In Yixian No. 2 Village, there is a piece of brick land that has been occupied by garbage and weeds for a long time, which has brought a lot of trouble to the lives of residents. Rather than simply adopting a "one-size-fits-all" solution, we have listened to the opinions and suggestions of the residents. Through the council hall section of the community pass, we guided the residents to have a lively discussion on the renovation plan of the brick floor. The wisdom of the residents was fully demonstrated here, and they actively proposed various renovation plans, and finally decided on a plan to transform the pavement brick floor into a colorful asphalt fitness trail.
In the process of renovation, we have always adhered to the principle of residents' participation and decision-making. Whether it is the naming of the trail or a series of problems in the construction process, it is solved in the joint discussion and decision-making of the residents. In the end, this fitness trail, named "Sunshine Happy Trail", not only has a smooth and beautiful road surface, but also fully considers the sports and leisure needs of residents, and has become a good place for residents to enjoy leisure sports.
Similarly, in the Samhua Modern City community of Golden Orchid Garden, we are facing a similar challenge. An old tennis court has been unmaintained for years and is no longer able to meet the needs of residents. In the face of this problem, we have also adopted the method of residents' participation and democratic consultation. Under the leadership of the general party branch, the residents held several meetings to discuss the renovation plan of the tennis court. In the end, it was unanimously decided to upgrade the tennis court into a comprehensive sports court integrating tennis, basketball and badminton to meet the diverse needs of residents for sports and fitness.
In the process of renovation, the enthusiasm of the residents has been fully stimulated. They not only actively participated in the consultation and provided many valuable opinions and suggestions for the renovation project, but also voluntarily participated in the volunteer service work of the site. This model of residents' autonomy under the leadership of party building not only makes the renovation project more in line with the needs and expectations of residents, but also enhances the cohesion and centripetal force of the community.
Through these examples, we can see that Gaojing Town, Baoshan District, has always adhered to the principle of people-oriented and residents' autonomy in the process of promoting community governance. We believe that only by allowing residents to truly become the main body of community governance can our community become better and more harmonious.
