According to OPPO's in-depth tracking and analysis of user usage scenarios, it is found that the reasons for replacement include accidental damage, among which water ingress, falling, and scratching are the three most common accidents.

OPPO said that if it wants to achieve IP68 protection with the flagship product, it will cost nearly 40 million more than IP54, which is the best in the same grade. For the OPPO product team, IP68 is the limit of waterproofing in the industry, but not the limit of the OPPO A3 Pro. This time, the OPPO A3 Pro is the first full-level waterproof mobile phone that has passed IP69 & IP68 & IP66, which can be soaked in water for half an hour and can be used when scooped up.

In addition, OPPO also mentioned that in the three protection levels of IP69, 68, and 66, they are not backward compatible, and mobile phones that pass the IP68 test may not be able to pass IP66. Among them, level 9 waterproof is the most unique, the reason why few products in the industry pass is because of IPX9 protection, which needs to withstand high temperature and high pressure water spray of about 80 °C.

6, 8 and 9 waterproof grades, corresponding to anti-spray water, anti-soaking water, and anti-high-pressure hot water respectively. Passing these three tests means that the Oppo A3 Pro supports true full-level water resistance from IPX1-X9.

To make a waterproof mobile phone, it is not a simple upgrade configuration, but a three-in-one system engineering that requires waterproof materials, structural design, and quality testing. In the process of research and development, it is necessary to redesign the structure stacking, use a number of waterproof materials, and carry out nine major upgrades and ten tests on the basis of IP54 to create a real full-level waterproof mobile phone, and it is also the only full-level waterproof mobile phone that has passed IP69, 68 and 66.

In addition to being waterproof, the OPPO A3 Pro has also made a lot of efforts to protect against drop damage. In order to make the product more durable, the Oppo A3 Pro chose to use flagship-grade glass this time, and its screen uses the same Corning Gorilla Victus 2 glass as the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. Compared with the same gear, the drop resistance is increased by 180% on the screen protective glass.

At the press conference, in order to verify the protective performance of the mobile phone, OPPO drove an SUV car weighing 3.5 tons at the scene, put another floor tile under the mobile phone, and drove the car over. Under these conditions, the strength of the front and back of the Oppo A3 Pro with Crystal Shield Glass was tested. After two crushes, the front and back of both phones were intact.

In addition to drop resistance, in terms of wear resistance, in fact, scratches on the screen often affect the use experience more. Because it will be replaced directly if it is broken, and minor scratches are often used continuously. The glass used in the OPPO A3 Pro is more wear-resistant than other flagship glasses.

Compared with the flagship glass of competitors, Corning Gorilla Victus 2 has 3 times more scratch resistance, and the Golden Shield glass on the back cover has also been increased by 3 times, and the front and rear covers are more wear-resistant. In terms of high drop speed, the Oppo A3 Pro supports a maximum drop of up to 1.8 meters.

In addition to the two more drop-resistant glasses at the front and rear, the Oppo A3 Pro adopts a more drop-resistant diamond architecture inside, and compared with the previous generation, the body adopts a stronger diamond corner and anti-collision beam design, which can better avoid sharp objects directly hitting the screen.
