In January 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other 7 departments jointly issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Innovation and Development of Future Industries", which put forward the key tasks of comprehensively laying out the future industries, and clarified the six major development directions of the "future industry", namely future manufacturing, future information, future materials, future energy, future space and future health. And put forward the future development goals, by 2025, the future industrial technology innovation, industrial cultivation, safety governance and other comprehensive development, the construction of a number of future industry incubators and pilot areas, breakthroughs in 100 cutting-edge key core technologies, the formation of 100 landmark products, the formulation of 100 key standards, the initial formation of the actual future industrial development model in line with the mainland.
As the development direction of emerging industries, the future industry has broad market prospects and huge development potential. Through the establishment of the "Future Industry Division", the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will strengthen the top-level design and planning guidance of future industries, promote collaborative innovation between industries, and promote the formation of future industrial clusters with international competitiveness.
