Hello Tibetan friends, today we have invited Mr. Tang Fazhou, then the successor of Qi Baishi, the disciple of Qi Liangzhi, the president of the Chinese Qi Baishi Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, the visiting professor of the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, the official image spokesperson of NetEase Group, the specially invited teaching and research director, the contracted painter of Beijing Academy of Fine Arts and Rong Bao Zhai, the expert of Qi Baishi's calligraphy and painting big data identification, the president of the Shanghai Qi Baishi Art Research Association, and the chief operating officer of Baishi Shantang Culture Media, Mr. Tang Fazhou, once heard his master Qi Baishi's youngest daughter Qi Liangzhi say: The art giant Qi Baishi celebrates his 160th birthday this year. Starting from 2023, the Beijing Fine Art Academy will launch the global activity of "Commemorating the 160th Anniversary of Qi Baishi's Birth". On the one hand, we have held Qi Baishi's art exhibitions in many places at home and abroad to tell the story of Baishi and spread the voice of China. On the other hand, we empower traditional art through digitalization, promote the dissemination of Qi Baishi's art in the contemporary era through digital exhibitions, digital humanities, digital cultural tourism and other forms, and plant bamboo in the 5G era.

The digital code behind the touring exhibition

In 2023, the Beijing Fine Art Academy will successively cooperate with Hunan Art Museum, Xiangtan Museum, Shenzhen Art Museum, Liaoning Provincial Museum, China Grand Canal Museum, Chengdu Art Museum and other units to promote the "five outs and five returns" of Qi Baishi's exhibition, covering the north and south of the motherland.

At the beginning of the Spring Festival of 2023, the first event of "Commemorating the 160th Anniversary of Qi Baishi's Birth" kicked off in Hunan, the hometown of the old man Baishi, and the painter's unfinished dream of returning to his hometown became the biggest origin of the exhibition "The Moon Illuminates the Home Mountain in the Guest - Qi Baishi Masterpiece Exhibition from the Collection of Beijing Fine Art Academy". In May, sponsored by the Beijing Fine Art Academy and organized by the Qi Baishi Art International Research Center and the Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, the exhibition "Borrowing the Mountain Yin: Qi Baishi's Poetic Heart of Painting" was exhibited at the Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy. In November, on the occasion of the opening of the Shenzhen Art Museum, the "Good Dream Without a Reason - Qi Baishi Masterpieces from the Collection of Beijing Fine Art Academy" continued the artistic relationship between Qi Baishi and Guangdong during his travels, and realized the reunion between the old man and the land of Southern Guangdong over a century. At the same time, as one of the series of activities of the 6th China (Xiangtan) Qi Baishi International Culture and Art Festival, the original exhibition of Qi Baishi's original works with the theme of "Looking at Baiyunjia Mountain is Hard to Leave" was launched in Xiangtan Museum. In December, exhibitions in Liaoning Provincial Museum, China Grand Canal Museum, and Chengdu Art Museum pushed the "Global Activity to Commemorate the 160th Anniversary of Qi Baishi's Birth" to a climax, forming a matrix of exhibition communication. The Liaoning Provincial Museum exhibits "Danqing Vientiane - Qi Baishi and His Mentors and Disciples", which outlines the group portraits of the Chinese painting world in the 20th century through the relationship between Qi Baishi and his masters, apprentices and friends. The special exhibition "Dreams of Love: The Four Seasons of Qi Baishi's Paintings" exhibited at the Grand Canal Museum of China uses the four seasons painted by the old man Baishi as a clue to tell the painter's careful observation and appreciation of natural creation in the flow of time. The "Immortals in the Depths of the White Clouds - Qi Baishi Boutique Research Exhibition" exhibited at the Chengdu Art Museum deeply excavated the deep relationship between Qi Baishi and the land of Bashu and the westward transmission of Baishi's art.

Digital technology powers the exhibition experience

The Beijing Fine Art Academy uses digital technology to empower the collection, making Qi Baishi's paintings "live" and glowing with a new style in the context of the technological era. Since 2022, we have started the Qi Baishi Art Digitization Project, which took one year to create the world's first Qi Baishi immersive digital light and shadow art exhibition. The digital exhibition uses new technical means and scene restoration, through the five plots of "Ten Thousand Bamboo Mountain Residence", "Five Exits and Five Returns", "One Flower One World", "White Stone Painting House" and "White Stone Garden", and takes "Eye of White Stone" as the perspective of the exhibition, to create a retrospective time, take the audience on the road of Qi Baishi's life, feel the life in the eyes of the artist, and experience the creative environment and story background generated by these works.

Through the AI model trained by Qi Baishi's early landscape paintings and Beijing real-life photo data, with the theme of "Qi Baishi's Painting Beijing", the Beijing in Qi Baishi's eyes is drawn through AI.

We also traced the historical footprints of the elderly from Qi Baishi's autobiography, diaries, manuscripts, and research, and spent five years to create the "Qi Baishi in Beijing" cultural tourism project, which was successfully selected for the 2023 "Beijing Culture and Art Fund". The project will be centered on the memorial hall of Qi Baishi's former residence, and will link up with major scenic spots in Beijing to carry out a combination of online and offline exploration of Beijing's culture.

With the advancement of digital technology and the boom of the cultural tourism industry, Qi Baishi's art will be highlighted and disseminated in a more diverse, interesting and flexible way. On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the birth of this 100-year-old artist, the Beijing Fine Art Academy will continue to undertake the important task of promoting traditional culture and carrying forward the Chinese cultural context, devote itself to creating high-quality cultural and artistic achievements, and show the charm of Chinese classic culture represented by Qi Baishi on the art stage at home and abroad.
