On April 15, Beijing time, Wake Forest guard Hunter Sallis announced his participation in the 2024 NBA draft while retaining his college qualifications.

Widely regarded as the end of the first round or the second round, Salis is 6-5 (1.96m) tall and hails from Nebraska and came to Gonzaga University as the second-highest high school player in pit bull history, behind teammate Chet Holmgren, who averaged 4.4 points per game off the bench for two seasons before transferring to Wake Forest University last offseason.

In his first and possibly only season with Wake Forest, Salis averaged 18 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game in his junior season, was named to the first team in the ACC league, and was voted the league's best transfer recruit by the Associated Press.

With his junior season, Salis made the most of the NBA mock drafts and was most recently predicted by The Athletic as the 27th pick for the Minnesota Timberwolves, as well as the 42nd pick for The Ringer, the 48th for ESPN, and the 49th for the bleachers.
