The first thing the new MateBook X Pro feels is that it's light and thin. Yu Chengdong said that when he got the equipment for the first time, he thought it was a fake model machine in his hand.
With a body of only 13.5mm and a weight of only 980g, the MateBook X Pro is officially entering the "100-gram era" of personal notebooks, which is lighter than the Macbook Air and iPad Pro (with Magic Keyboard).
In order to be so lightweight, Huawei has adopted a "magnesium alloy body" on the new device, which has the advantages of low density, high strength, good rigidity, and light specific gravity compared to aluminum and steel, so it can greatly reduce the weight of the whole machine.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to the alloy body, the MateBook X Pro uses a micro-velvet paint process, and the device looks matte and matte, and the touch is very similar to that of skin-friendly silicone, which is relatively soft. And this process also makes the surface of the laptop's shell harder, more scratch-resistant, and more durable.
While keeping the weight low, Huawei has also cram a large 14.2-inch screen into the computer, with a screen-to-body ratio of nearly 93% of the phone. The intelligent voice of the new device supports AI minutes, voice input, AI subtitles, and other functions, and supports multi-language transcription. Smart Search further introduces AI technology, which can quickly locate the required file and accurately search for keywords and related content in the body of the document in the huge document library.
In particular, AI minutes can recognize the voice of each speaker in the meeting and group the minutes by speaker.
If AI functions want to be better implemented, openness is the top priority, and an open ecosystem and open APIs can lead to win-win cooperation. That's why the MateBook X Pro has also partnered with a number of third parties to develop AI capabilities on the PC side.
