Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. officially joined the UNGC on March 31, 2024, after passing the UN Global Compact audit. Chery pledged to support the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and to report on its progress annually.

Founded in 2000 by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the United Nations Global Compact is currently the world's largest and most influential international organization to promote corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. As of today, the UN Global Compact has more than 24,000 participating companies and stakeholders from more than 160 countries.

As an automobile company with more than 13.6 million global users, Chery has ranked first in the export of Chinese brand passenger cars for 21 consecutive years. In more than 20 years of global operation, Chery has adhered to the concept of sustainable development, integrated ESG into its strategy and operations, practiced corporate citizenship, and strived to contribute to the economy, employment, tax payment, and public welfare undertakings in every market around the world. In 2023, Chery donated more than RMB 32 million to disaster-stricken areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Gansu and Qinghai for disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction, donated US$6 million to UNICEF for international children's education projects, and signed a memorandum of cooperation with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to jointly promote global environmental protection projects.

Joining the United Nations Global Compact is one of Chery's important measures to implement its long-term and sustainable development strategy, and Chery hopes to work with a wide range of stakeholders to jointly promote the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and work with global enterprises to build a more sustainable world.
