Atrocity 1: The girl was hidden in the attic

On December 13, 1937, the city of Nanjing fell under the attack of the Japanese army, and a soldier of the 33rd Wing of the 16th Division of the Japanese Army, Kozo Tasso, entered the city of Nanjing.

Kozo Tando clearly remembers that there were still Chinese soldiers resisting on the day of the fall of Nanjing. Bullets kept flying from the trenches and walls. Experienced veterans can tell if they are being targeted simply by the sound of bullets.

When a bullet makes a "pop-thump" sound, it proves that it has not been aimed, and if it is a "whoosh" bullet with no sound, this type of bullet must pass close to the body or will land in front of the eye, which is the most dangerous bullet.

Atrocities of the Japanese army

After the fall of Nanjing, comfort stations began to appear in the suburbs. The comfort station was a small grass hut made of corn husks, so narrow that it could only fit one bed. There were fifteen or sixteen girls, and the soldiers were waiting in line outside. The price is about 50 to 2 yen for 1 yen, and it is all paid with a military ticket.

The comfort station had to pay, and the soldiers were reluctant to go to the comfort station. They like to go to the city to find "flower girls", such girls don't have to pay for cleanliness. There is also a knack for finding "flower girls", the temple is their hiding place, and it is easy to find them when you go to the temple.

Ordinary people also have it at home, and they usually hide the girl on the second floor. When the team went to look for the "Flower Girl", they found her in the haystack in the attic of the house. Her parents hid her in a haystack and brought her food every day.

The Japanese army invaded Nanjing

The girl who was caught from the attic was arrested and returned to the detachment that day. The girl's parents and family were unwilling, but they couldn't help it. Sharp bayonets and piercing bullets will make them all succumb.

In order not to be killed, the girl's family had to take the girl away by Japanese soldiers. The detachment was stationed in the house, and every day about 3 girls were brought back.

They were also imprisoned in the attic of the detachment, where they were fed and sheltered every day, and replaced when they got tired of playing. This is truly a beastly act, and it still feels outrageous when I think about it.

On the way to Nanjing, when you meet a girl, you will be caught at the station. In many cases, there are not so many young girls to arrest, so the women who are arrested are about 50 years old and some are in their 30s, all of them peasant women.

Women captured by the Japanese army

After entering the city of Nanjing, all the women and girls in the city were surrounded by the Japanese army, and they did not have time to escape. This made it easier for the Japanese soldiers to arrest the girl, and the only trouble was to search in the attic, temple or house.

Kotaro Tando remembers very well that he harmed many "flower girls" in the city of Nanjing, at least more than 50 people. They were all collected by the detachment and kept in the attic of the detachment.

There is another reason to keep it in the attic, and that is to avoid the inspection of the gendarmerie. Later, the gendarmes did not come to inspect much, and even when they came, they would just take a look and leave, so the Japanese soldiers became even more unscrupulous.

The flower girl in the city

There were many such atrocities, but the detachment did not kill the girls, and after a week or two in the attic, they were released home. There were cases of people being killed in other wings, and there were many such cases on the way from Shanghai to Nanjing.

On the way from Shanghai to Nanjing, you will see the corpses of women lying in ravines from time to time on the roadside, all of them were killed by the Japanese army, and they were all humiliated before they died.

That tragic situation is truly unforgettable, and this is the humiliation of the defeated country. There were so many of these at the time, so no one took it seriously.

Atrocity 2: There are corpses floating in the Yangtze River

The city of Nanjing is a purgatory on earth, and in addition to the atrocities against women and girls, it is an endless brutal killing. Nanjing's Rujiang Gate is a large city gate, the city gate hole is closed with sandbags, and when you enter Nanjing, the city gate hole and nearby are full of corpses.

The first thing to do after entering the city was to chase the defeated soldiers all the way to the Yangtze River. There are many corpses floating on the Yangtze River, and from the river bank to more than 30 meters above the river, the river is not visible, because the corpses cover the surface of the river, turning into a "river of corpses".

Rujiang Gate

The scene was shocking, and the Japanese soldiers killed them with machine guns and rifles as there were still living people among the floating corpses. Upstream were soldiers from other companies shooting, and after the bodies drifted down, the other companies found that there were still people alive and continued to shoot.

The shooting lasted a full three hours, and among the living were defeated soldiers and civilians, all of whom were dressed in black, and many of them were killed. On the banks of the river stood the soldiers of the 38th Wing, who captured more defeated soldiers than one Wing, about 3,500 people.

The defeated soldiers had lost confidence when the city was broken, hung their heads in frustration, and let more than 100 Japanese soldiers escort them to the river. In order to prevent them from resisting, the Japanese soldiers told them in advance and promised not to kill them.

The soldier was taken prisoner

On the banks of the Yangtze River, some defeated soldiers sat on the shore, and some squatted in the grass. The defeated soldiers thought that the Japanese army would take them away with boats, but they were greeted by endless bullets, and the ships on the river were also firing and firing artillery, and the Yangtze River became a slaughter field.

Kotaro Tadosho has a very strange idea, that is, he can feel at ease when he hears the sound of bullets, and as long as he is still shooting, he will not worry about being killed.

This is also the mentality of most Japanese soldiers, in a highly tense war environment, the massacre is inhumane and inhumane, this is the cruelty of reality.

The corpse of the Shimonoseki River

The atrocities along the Yangtze River lasted for many days, and how many people were killed? Some say at least 38,000 people.

This number may be more than that, because almost every wing has to kill thousands or even tens of thousands of people at a time, and the massacres that last for so many days must have at least hundreds of thousands.

In any case, the atrocities of the massacre committed by the Japanese soldiers in Nanking are indisputable and cannot be denied by anyone.

Mountains of corpses

Kotaro Ueta's diary written in Nanjing records two atrocities committed by the Japanese army. Decades later, reading this diary again is still shocking and infuriating.

The significance of history lies in the fact that it warns us not to forget our roots. This humiliating history can not be forgotten at any time, it inspires our later people to be indignant and strong, and always remember that it is not easy to come along the way......
