In 1983, Xiao Xiong participated in a movie with the theme of educated youth, called "Wasted Years", in which Xiao Xiong used her clear and bright big eyes to portray an innocent female intellectual, and this film won Xiao Xiong the first China TV Golden Eagle Award for Best Actress.
