On April 14, the family of Chen Yongquan, a famous cross talk performance artist of the Beijing Quyi Troupe, released an obituary, Chen Yongquan died in Beijing at 8:48 on April 14, 2024, due to ineffective medical treatment, at the age of 92.

Chen Yongquan, born in Beijing in 1932, his maternal grandfather Zhong Ziliang was a representative of the "Qingmen" cross talk in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. His father, Chen Zizhen, was a famous cross talk artist from the 20s to the 40s of the 20th century, and his representative works include "Eight Cats", "Theory of Wealth and Poverty", "Sheep on the Tree" and so on. In 1955, Chen Yongquan began to create cross talk, and successively published "I'm No Problem", "New Words and Old Words", "Please Doctor", "Pregnant Woman Questionnaire" and so on. In the 60s of the 20th century, Chen Yongquan created and adapted a number of cross talks, such as "So Amorous", cross talk dramas "Who Do You Look Like", "Miss City" and so on.

In 1977, after Chen Yongquan returned to the stage, he cooperated with Li Jindou for a long time, with tacit understanding, and was known as a model of cooperation in the cross talk industry and a golden partner. The two have worked together for nearly 30 years and have performed more than 100 cross talk works together, among which "Wu Song Fights the Tiger" is one of their most representative works and has won many awards. In addition to his collaboration with Li Jindou, Chen Yongquan has also participated in the creation and performance of many other cross talk works. In 1995, in the first national "Hou Baolin Golden Image Award" TV cross talk competition, Chen Yongquan won the "Outstanding Contribution Award to the Art of Cross Talk".

Chen Yongquan's partner, Li Jindou, a famous cross talk performance artist, said sadly in an interview: "Mr. Chen Yongquan is our cross talk predecessor in Beijing, a famous cross talk artist, and also my teacher and old partner, and his death is a great loss to the cross talk industry. In April 2020, Mr. Chen was hospitalized due to a heart attack, and the last time I saw him was two months ago, he was still chatting and laughing, talking to me about cross talk creation, and sending us out of the door when he said goodbye. ”
