On April 12, Zhang Bingfeng, Vice President of the First Affiliated High School of Central China Normal University, and his delegation went to the Yau Chengtong Mathematical Science Center of Tsinghua University to visit Academician Yau Chengtong, and the two sides exchanged views on the work of the "Yau Chengtong Junior Class" of the First Affiliated High School of China Normal University.
Vice President Zhang Bingfeng first reported on the progress of the current work of the "Yau Chengtong Junior Class" of the First Affiliated High School of ECNU, and thanked Academician Qiu and Qiuzhen College of Tsinghua University for their support and guidance for the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents. Academician Qiu listened carefully and patiently inquired about the focus of the work since the awarding of the "Yau Chengtong Junior Class" and the support of the local government. Academician Qiu has always believed that the cultivation of top-notch talents in basic disciplines should start from the middle school stage, and he is full of expectations for the "Yau Chengtong Youth Class" of the First High School Affiliated to China Normal University.
After the exchange and conversation, Vice President Zhang Bingfeng invited Academician Qiu to the school to guide the work, and sincerely hoped that Qiuzhen College would continue to provide professional support to the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents in our school.
Also participating in this exchange were Zhou Ke, director of the junior high school of the First Affiliated High School of ECNU, Li Jianguo, director of the Development Center, Wang Xiaofang, deputy dean of Qiuzhen College of Tsinghua University, and Professor Lin Yong of the Mathematics Center of Tsinghua University.
Yau Chengtong Junior Class
As early as May 2023, President Zhou Pengcheng led a team to visit Academician Yau Chengtong and reported on the school-running practice and achievements of the First Affiliated High School of ECNU for more than 70 years, which has been committed to cultivating top-notch innovative talents with both ability and political integrity. On January 3, 2024, the awarding ceremony of the "Yau Chengtong Youth Class" and the Mathematics Talent Training Exchange Conference were held in Guanghua Building, Fudan University. Academician Yau Chengtong awarded a plaque to our school and authorized the First Affiliated High School of Central China Normal University to set up the "Yau Chengtong Juvenile Class".
