China and Vietnam held the eighth border defense friendship exchange activity
Kunming, 12 Apr (Jiefangjun Bao) -- From 11 to 12 April, the eighth Sino-Vietnamese border defense friendly exchange activities were held at the mouth of the Hekou in Yunnan and in Vietnam's Lao Cai and related port areas. Dong Jun said: Holding this border defense friendly exchange activity is a concrete measure to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties. China is ready to carry forward the deep friendship of "comrades and brothers" with Vietnam, firmly support each other's core interests and major concerns, and elevate the strategic mutual trust between the two militaries to a new height. The two sides should actively expand practical cooperation in areas such as personnel training, exchange of visits by delegations and political work, give new connotations to friendly exchanges on national defense, make maritime cooperation a new highlight of cooperation between the two militaries, enhance the ability to jointly safeguard maritime security, and contribute to building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance. Phan Van Giang said that he is grateful for China's assistance in Vietnam's national liberation struggle and national construction, and that Vietnam has always regarded the development of Vietnam-China relations as a diplomatic priority, and is willing to work with China to push bilateral defense relations to a new height under the guidance of the "six mores." The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a hotline between the Southern Theater and the Vietnamese Navy, and carried out activities such as painting red on boundary monuments, planting friendship trees, observing joint land patrols by border guards of the two countries, and visiting local primary schools.
