The ongoing 2024 Badminton Asian Championships on April 12 can be regarded as China Day, and in the five individual quarter-finals played on that day, the Chinese badminton team won a total of 13 games. The women's singles event swept the top four, while three pairs of players advanced to the semi-finals in the mixed doubles event. The only men's doubles pair to lose, Liu Yuchen/Ou Xuanyi, also qualified for the Paris Olympics in advance because of the "assists" of other players.

On April 13, 10 semi-finals will be played at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, and the Chinese badminton team will have 13 (pair) players participating.

The semi-finals of the women's singles event are an internal war for the Chinese team, but there is a battle for qualification for the Paris Olympics. He Bingjiao played against Wang Zhiyi, and Han Yue played against Chen Yufei. At present, Chen Yufei has locked up the Olympic ticket, and He Bingjiao and Han Yue are still competing for another women's singles Olympic ticket. Judging from the results of the previous two and the world rankings, He Bingjiao has a great possibility of winning Wang Zhiyi, but it is very difficult for Han Yue to win Chen Yufei, who is ranked second in the world.

In the semi-finals of the men's singles event, the No. 1 seed Shi Yuqi faced Indonesia's Jonatan, and Li Shifeng faced Japan's Kodai Naraoka. Judging from recent matches, Shi Yuqi is in good form, and his opponent Jonatan won the All England Open not long ago, and this semi-final battle is destined to be very fierce. Li Shifeng's opponent in the half zone is not bad, and after Momota Kento, Kodai Naraoka has grown into the Japanese badminton men's singles, and there is a vicious fight between the two.

In the semifinals of the women's doubles event, world No. 1 Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan played against teammates Zheng Yu/Zhang Shuxian, and the chances of winning were obviously much greater. The other Chinese pair Liu Shengshu/Tan Ning will face world No. 2 Baek Ha Na/Lee So-hee of South Korea, and it is difficult to predict the outcome of the two pairs.

In the semi-finals of the men's doubles event, only the Liang Wang combination (Liang Weihang/Wang Chang) of the Chinese badminton team advanced to the semifinals. In the semi-finals, they faced Chinese Taipei's Yang Boxuan/Lee Zhehui. The other semi-final will be between the Malaysian pair of Chia Ting Feng/So Wei Yi and Goh Shi Fei/Izudin.

In the semi-finals of the mixed doubles event, the Phoenix combination (Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping) played against teammates Jiang Zhenbang/Wei Yaxin, although Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping has locked in the Olympic qualification and has won six games in a row against Jiang Zhenbang/Wei Yaxin, but Jiang Zhenbang/Wei Yaxin is also in very good shape, not necessarily without opportunities.

As for the familiar IELTS pair (Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong), their semi-final opponents are old Korean friends Seo Seung Jae/Choi Yoo Hyun. The IELTS pair have a 15-2 record against their opponents, with Seo Seungjae/Choi Yoo Hyun beating IELTS in the final of the World Championships.

The last time the two sides met in the finals last year, when the IELTS pair won 21-12, 21-5.

The 10 semi-final matches are divided into two halves, starting at 10 a.m. and 17 p.m. on April 13.
