At present, intelligent technologies represented by AIGC are extensively reshaping ICT infrastructure, and with the large-scale application of AI, massive computing power is also undergoing an evolution from general-purpose to heterogeneous, and from single-point to ubiquitous. As an important carrier of computing power transmission, the network is deeply integrating computing, and its bearer technology and tuning mode are also constantly evolving. How to solve the efficient, low-cost, and long-distance transmission of massive data, and how to ensure the lossless transmission of end-to-end WAN for intelligent computing services have become important issues that cannot be ignored in building an efficient and reliable computing network.

IPv6+ WAN bearer network is fully equipped with five major technologies

In order to solve many problems in the construction of computing power WAN, New H3C Group builds an IPv6+-based WAN bearer network based on the overall architecture of the computing power network, through innovative technologies such as SRv6/G-SRv6, SDN, network slicing, application-aware APN6, long-distance segmented flow control and determinism, etc., which not only ensures the performance of the network with large bandwidth, low latency and low jitter, but also provides users with wide-area lossless and highly reliable deterministic service quality assurance for complex and changeable services, and realizes the optimal path for cross-region access to computing resources.

  • SRv6 & SDN technology enables intelligent computing services to determine paths and optimize traffic. In the IP bearer network, SRv6 and SDN are combined to implement source routing path scheduling, and AD-WAN management and control service delivery, multi-dimensional visualization of resources, and network analysis and optimization are implemented.
  • Network slicing technology provides low-latency, wide-area lossless, and elastic bandwidth for intelligent computing services. Through iFit on-band flow detection, it divides intelligent computing services into separate slices, reserves bandwidth for deterministic services, and configures enabling dynamic policies to achieve elastic bandwidth expansion and contraction.
  • APN6 is application-aware and implements UCMP load balancing for elephant flows. Through the identification of APN information, the device allocates the traffic of intelligent computing services to different links in the network slice to avoid network congestion and ensure the optimal overall throughput.
  • Long-distance segmented flow control ensures end-to-end lossless intelligent computing services. Congestion is controlled at long-distance gateways in data centers, and end-to-end forwarding rates are adjusted to improve throughput and reduce latency.
  • Deterministic network technology realizes WAN losslessness and time determinism of intelligent computing services. Based on the key technology of WAN RCQF, the topology and delay information are collected to calculate and plan the path, establish the queue mapping relationship, and realize periodic forwarding. It provides fine-grained differentiated service capabilities, precise path control, and microsecond-level end-to-end jitter.

Computing power factor injects "wisdom" into computing power WAN

With the large-scale deployment of intelligent computing centers, distributed computing power scheduling has more real-time business awareness capabilities and can make better use of a wide range of heterogeneous computing resources compared with centralized computing power scheduling. However, in contrast, the network also needs to sense and synchronize computing power while providing bearer. Yang Wu, Director of the Router Product Line System Department of New H3C Group, pointed out in his speech that the construction of a computing power WAN requires top-level design and gives full play to the collaborative value of computing networks. The computing network brain and computing power routing are used to calculate computing power resources and network resources, distribute the computing power, storage, algorithm and other information of service nodes, provide the best distribution and deployment for the effective use of computing power resources, and finally realize the optimal allocation of resources in the entire network.

The key to realizing the perception of computing power lies in the introduction of computing power factor, which is a core reference item, and it is necessary to effectively evaluate the computing power factor in combination with the dual indicators of performance and service. By normalizing the performance parameter values and standardizing the service indicators, a visual computing power factor is finally synthesized to provide input for computing network control and routing. At present, the distributed solution requires the WAN PE router to sense the computing power factor and implement it through "computing power routing", but there is still a gap in the relevant standards in this field.
