On April 12, the majority of cadres, workers and student volunteers in Midong District carried out a spring voluntary tree planting activity in the barren mountains along the East Ring Expressway (Midong Section), with more than 4,000 people planting more than 31,200 trees and shrubs, and adding 380 acres of voluntary tree planting area.
It is reported that there are more than 10 varieties of seedlings planted by the voluntary tree planting, such as big-leaved elm, red-leaved begonia, and elm-leaved plum. In order to enhance the ornamental nature of the green area, new varieties of trees such as mountain peach and golden-leaved pentagonal maple have been added this year. These varieties have strong stress resistance, cold and drought resistance, have a certain landscape, high survival rate and are conducive to management and protection, and are very suitable for barren mountain soil quality of high-quality seedlings.
Jin Xin, Secretary of the Party Group of Midong District Garden Administration, introduced that this year, Midong District plans to plant more than 600 acres of green area throughout the year, including 380 acres of green in spring, involving two parts: the landscape belt around the east and the improvement of the urban environment, which should not only enhance the image of Midong City, but also effectively improve the living conditions of residents. Next, Midong District will continue to firmly establish the concept of "increasing greenery is increasing advantages, and planting trees is planting the future", adhere to the simultaneous development of greening, rejuvenating greenery, and protecting greenery, and go all out to build a beautiful Midong.
At the event site, 70 enterprises and institutions in Midong District participated in the voluntary tree planting in full swing, and after a while, the newly planted saplings were bathed in the warm spring breeze, and the barren mountains also showed vitality in an instant. Zhou Wenyan, a staff member of the Office of the Midong District People's Congress, has worked for nearly 30 years and has participated in voluntary tree planting almost every year.

On the same day, in response to the voluntary tree-planting activities of the whole people in spring, Wool Workers Town and Tiechanggou Town also actively organized cadres and villagers to plant trees, grass and flowers in front of and behind the house, so as to continuously improve the living environment of residents and create a beautiful Midong where "you can see the scenery through the window and see the green when you go out".
