According to an article published by India's "Eurasian Times" on the 6th, it said that the official account of the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force at the Naha base posted photos of the emergency transfer of F-15J fighters.
The local fighter unit urgently moved the aircraft to higher areas after the earthquake.
Japan's Naha Air Base is located off the southern coast of the Ryukyus. Since most of the military bases in the Ryukyus are under the jurisdiction of the U.S. military, the Naha base can only use a runway with a civilian airport.
In the aftermath of the earthquake, Naha's runway was almost the same as the sea level, making it easy for the tsunami waves to crash into the airport. Therefore, in this case, the Japanese government made a decision at the first time to limit the protection of military property in contrast to the early protection of civilian facilities.
