Caojing Town's "Duolisheng" small crown watermelon is deeply loved by the public because of its moderate sweetness and crisp taste. At present, the "Duolisheng" watermelon has entered the stage of pollination and vine cultivation, and it is expected that the public will be able to taste "fresh" by the end of this month.
The reporter saw in the "Duolisheng" watermelon base in Caojing Town, a green watermelon vine spread along the mulch, melon farmers are doing artificial pollination to ensure that each female flower can get enough pollen, so as to improve the fruit setting rate of watermelon. On the other side, in the fast-rising greenhouse, fist-sized watermelons are hidden under the vines. Melon farmers shuttle through the greenhouses to clear excess vines.

We have to make sure that there are two vines left on one melon seedling, and all the excess vines must be disposed of. In this way, the nutrients can be concentrated on the two melons to ensure the quality of the melons, otherwise the nutrients will be scattered.
In order to ensure the continuous output of watermelons, this year's base adopts the method of planting and harvesting in batches, planting about 40 acres of "Duolisheng" watermelons, with a yield of about 4,000 catties per mu, and the first stubble melons are expected to mature at the end of April, and the second batch is expected to be listed in mid to late May. The jade mushroom melon, 8424 and other varieties in the base will be available at the end of April and the end of May respectively.
