Introduction: With the improvement of national health awareness, coupled with the progress of imaging technology and the development of equipment, especially the popularization of chest CT examination, the software of artificial intelligence (AI) assisted diagnosis of pulmonary nodules has become more and more mature, and the detection rate of pulmonary nodules has increased significantly in recent years. At the same time, the rise of WeChat moments, family and friend groups, and short video platforms has led to an overwhelming flood of information about lung nodules and lung cancer. Many times when we search for lung nodules, almost all relevant content is related to lung cancer, especially for ground-glass nodules in the lungs, which has become synonymous with lung cancer in many people's minds.
Nowadays, we are in an era of talking about cancer discoloration, and when there is a lack of relevant medical knowledge, lung nodules often bring great distress and fear, making us want to "put lung nodules to death" and live again. So, are lung nodules really bad at all? Are all nodules the same as cancer, or may they become cancerous? How to follow up lung nodules when they are found? When do you need to intervene? Sha Zhao, MD&PhD, graduated from Tongji University and is currently an attending physician in the Department of Oncology, Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Tongji University. Focusing on immunotherapy and molecular targeted therapy resistance research in advanced lung cancer, he has published 27 papers so far, which have been cited 424 times, and has been invited to give oral reports at international and domestic academic conferences such as the World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) for many times, participated in the compilation of 2 monographs related to lung cancer, presided over 1 National Natural Youth Fund project and 2 hospital-level projects, participated in 1 national natural special project and a number of general projects.
