Zhu Yingren, born in Changshu, Jiangsu Province in 1930, has loved painting since childhood and studied art from teachers. He graduated from the East China Branch of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (now the China Academy of Art) in 1952 and stayed on to teach. He studied painting with Mr. Wu Fuzhi and was taught by Mr. Pan Tianshou, and is a Chinese flower and bird painter and art educator. Professor of China Academy of Art, graduate tutor, member of China Artists Association, executive director of Pan Tianshou Foundation, vice president of Wu Fuzhi Art Research Association, and member of Xiling Seal Society. He has published works such as "Zhu Yingren's Painting Collection", "Zhu Yingren's Brush Flowers and Birds", "Famous Painter Wu Fuzhi", "On Puhua Ink and Bamboo", "Freehand Flower and Bird Painting Appreciation" and so on.

Fang Zengxian, former director of the Shanghai Art Museum and chairman of the Shanghai Artists Association, once said: Yingren has not only inherited the profound tradition of his predecessors in creation, but also developed. His flower and bird paintings embody the brilliance and warmth of human nature, and in terms of technique, he combines solid and accurate modeling with free brush and ink freehand, and the color and ink are born together, and the painting style is ancient and modern.
