HMD launches Nokia 6310, 5310 and 230 feature phones

author:cnBeta

HMD has adopted a new multi-brand nomenclature for its smartphones, but still uses the Nokia name on its feature phones. The Finnish manufacturer has just unveiled three new phones, all modern interpretations of the classics – the Nokia 6310 (2024), 5310 (2024) and 230 (2024).

The phone brings some new features to the 2024 version. It's similar to the 2021 6310, but the HMD equips it with a larger 1450mAh battery and a USB-C port.

The rest of the specs remain the same – a VGA camera with flash on the back, a 2.8-inch LCD on the front, a dual SIM card slot for dual SIM dual standby, and an additional microSD card slot.

HMD decided to keep the overall design of the 5310 (2020), but the size of the phone has actually increased – it's taller and wider, making room for a larger 1450mAh battery. The chipset is now a Unisoc 6531F, which no longer uses the MediaTek platform, and the larger size also brings a larger 2.8-inch LCD.

The name of 5310 has to do with music, and we all remember the XpressMusic classic from 2007. On this phone, the play button is on the right side of the phone, and the volume keys are on the left. The HMD also has a USB-C port on the bottom, but everything remains the same inside – 8/16 MB of RAM (with microSD card slot), dual speakers, and FM radio.

Nokia 230 (2024)

This Nokia 230, like the other two siblings, has a similar design, but with a new battery. The body size is exactly the same as the phone released in 2015, and the 2.8-inch 65K color TFT display has also been retained. The front and rear panels are likewise equipped with a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash combinations.

The main difference is the 1450 mAh battery and USB-C port. Bluetooth 5.0 is supported by the Unisoc 6531F chipset, with no changes to other features like a 3.5mm audio jack and 8/16 MB.

HMD did not disclose pricing for these phones. We need to point out that all three phones are limited to 2G, which means they can't be used on any 3G or newer network.
